Brake Squeal only in Reverse

Hi Everyone, new member. I have a 08 G37 Coupe with just over 24000 kms. Since new when braking in reverse there is a horrible, loud brake squeal about 90% of the time. My dealer (Hyatt in Calgary Canada) says it is a problem with the Coupe that Infiniti cannot fix. Has anyone else had this problem? Did your dealer fix it? Any suggestions? I am fed up with it. My dealer gave me a 1-800 number for Infiniti to complain to them directly - great... as if that will help.

Let me know as there are about half a million Infiniti/Nissan owners with this problem. Oh and almost as many threads on it. Search and ye shall find.

Yes, I have the same problem as do many others! After several complaints my dealership re-machined the rotors at no cost and the sound was gone BUT only for about 6 months before it came back again! from what I understand Infiniti put a performance bulletin out on it and the explanation from the dealership is bascially big high performance breaks on the "S" squeal until they warm up! it does go away slightly after you drive the car around...BUT when you put in reverse....it's still there! My corvette used to do it and from what i understand some other big performance breaks do it...but who knows!!!

I have the same problem...let me check that off of the list of sh*t that's gone wrong and will go wrong due to sh*tty infiniti quality.

I'm no fortune teller but something tells me there is going to be a fully loaded low mileage g37s 6mt with all options for sale in the south verrrry soon

Thanks for all the replies and good to know that I am only 1 of probably thousands with this Infiniti flaw. I am now planning to replace the pads since my dealer won't do anything. Any recommendations? Project MU's?

Mine has always done it. Doesn't bother me. Only first thing in the morning. Lasts 0.0000000001 of a second!

happens to most sport brakes, my friends STI sound is way worst than mine in reverse. Dealership told me its the design of the pads and the dirt/rust from rain. *shrugs* As long as the rotor don't crack in half while I slam on the brakes at high speeds.
