Black Chrome

I am thinking about doing a black chrome exchange on the stock 19" oem wheels on my liquid platinum g37. La Wheel & Tire quoted me $1,087.50 (only one way shipping) + $1,800 refundable deposit when I called them today. Does anyone have experience with having this done and if so, is this a fair price? I can get regular chrome for about $200 less but I think that the black chrome would look great against the liquid platinum. Any suggestions/help is appreciated!

I think the black chrome would look sick...regular chrome is way played out and is for Escalades and people who want to act baller

I know it's expensive but don't really know what a ballpark is to compare to...I say go for it

Black chrome would look nice. But make sure the place knows what they're doing so the integrity of your wheels are not compromised during the process.

LA Wheel and tire seems to be pretty reputable and know what they're doing. The price I was quoted is for a new process called winter chrome which supposedly can withstand corrosion from road salt, ice, snow, etc. It is also supposed to be lighter than traditional chrome and easy to clean. They have a 5 year warranty as well.

even if they say it will stand up to salt/ice/etc I would definitely clean them off ASAP when you get home from those conditions to make sure they don't get messed up

post pics if/when you get them done!!!

Black pc'd with a glossy finish will look awesome and should cost half as much as that.

For that price, just save for some aftermarket wheels.

I would buy aftermarket wheels and change the look of your ride...

but...

If your strongly considering it and you have the funds... you would be the first and it would look hella sick ! If you get it done, post some pics ! GL !

I've had work done through L.A. Wheel and they are awesome. PC and regular chrome both came out superb.

I'm curious about how the Winterchrome comes out, so post pics! They cover everything -- including corrosion! -- according to the Winterchrome warranty, which is pretty amazing for 5 years. I don't doubt that part of their slightly expensive price is because of that, which is totally worthwhile in my book.

Most places do 2 year warranties or thereabouts, and don't have nearly as many options as L.A. Wheel. By the way, if you live near them like I do, you can save money by picking up the wheels or just dropping off your wheels to get them chromed, rather than do the exchange. Just an fyi.
