Rear Tires Rubbing What can I do?

I have Eibach Pro springs and I'm always rubbing the plastic wheel well when I go over dips in the road at higher speeds. This especially happens with a passenger in the car. It sounds horrible and has rubbed a hole in the plastic wheel well liner.

I'm guessing the plastic liner is there to protect the frame from water spray, so I'm wondering if this hole is goign to cause a problem if left un-fixed.

Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?

lol! alot of us just cut and some actually remove the whole thing completely. the water is not gonna damage your frame.

Rubbing with eibachs????? Thats the craziest thing I've ever heard. Usually eibachs dont lower the G that much. Post a pic of how low ur car is.

yeah I can guarantee you aren't rubbing from the eibachs unless you are going over huge speed bumps at highway speeds. and even then it'd be hard to do.

either you a)dont have eibachs and have something else or b)there is something wrong with the springs, ie they were cut. did you buy them new?

OR C his rims are a really low offset running 285 in the rear...In which case he would be rubbing even if he wasn't dropped.

I'm on Eibachs, Volk GT30's (10.5") with 285/30/20 tires..... and I can GUARANTEE, I DO RUB on bumps and dips sometimes.

yeah me and (I think) CEELOS were just thinking of OEM wheels. obviously you can make the G rub with no drop at all with aftermarket wheels

yeah, thought about that. But not really goin' for the stretched look unless I'm going for the hellaflush stance. Stretched don't look good if car is only mildly dropped imo.

Here are pics of my car. I think the fact that I have a big sub, amp, and box sitting right on top of the rear wheels probably doesn't help.

Sounds like I shouldn't sweat it. Other than the horrible sound of the rub it probably won't be a big deal...

Rubbed on Eibachs on driver side wth GT30's and 285. Your lucky if the liners all you're rubbing. There's also a bolt flange where the rear panel bolts on that gets many with this config. Tried grinding it..no luck. Use to bottom out the front to the liner on large bumps too. My solution was coilovers.. raised it till it didn't rub. Lesson learned.. I'll never waste time and money on springs again.

I don't think I read this anywhere, but are you running any type of rear camber kit? You may also just need to cut that wheel well lining out along with trimming the bumper bracket that goes along with it.

I've seen people with rubbing issues with 275 in the back on stock OEM wheels with 15mm spacers.

I would trim that wheel well lining first before anything.
