For your area I would suggest going with the more aggressive option so you are ready if it gets nasty. The difference in class, passenger/performance, is pretty much what I outlined above.

Neil, thanks for the recommendation. I would like know if you know or if anyone would know if using aggressive winter tires affect the gas economy of a vehicle or would that relate to having the proper size tire on the vehicle matching rotational speed.

No real accurate way to measure gas mileage so honestly not sure.

Neil,

I am looking at the recommended tire package from Tirerack with the DS-3 tires for the vehicle when it arrives soon to my door, I hope. I seemed to have settled on not getting the recommended MSW Type 11s and opted for the MSW Type 20s instead. My question is given the G37S sedan has a staggered tire setup and with identification pins so the tires are installed staggered properly, would I have any problems with this? And would the rims clear the sport Akebono brakes. I am asking this since looking at the Infiniti website, I would assume given the rim sizes are almost identical they would clear the large brakes.

I am thinking of purchasing a set from Tirerack and having them installed at a preferred shop in Buffalo. I will have to figure something out with Canadian customs so I don't get wacked for duty and stuff.

Nope, no problems at all. Just need to take the locating pins out so the wheel sits flush (all the aftermarket options require that) and you'll be fine. They have the exact same dimensions as the Type 11's. Will also clear the larger sport brakes fine.

Shipping to an installer is fine. That's quite common in your case. Feel free to call me or mention my name on the order so I can follow it.
