Thinking of lighweight rims to improve performance....
According to another member on here, 09 Sedan 18's are 30lbs a piece! I'm pretty sure the 07-08 rims are close in weight too. I have an AWD...good for 0-60 in the mid 5's.
I'd like some lightweight rims to boost performance. I'm keeping the stock size of 18's....but looking for 20lbs or under. I figure that reducing the roating mass by 40lbs would be felt noticably under acceleration.
Can anyone comment? I'm doing this for better performance, NOT b/c i don't like the looks of the stock 18's. I'm fine with them.

Yes, Volk wheels look awesome. Not sure I can justify the price though.
Not really looking for wheel styles but experience on swithing to lightweight rims (keeping stock size) as a performance mod.

That's what I hear. That was one of the determining factors of me getting a sedan vs the coupe. Also, I'm more into sleeper/rare cars. There just are not that many 6mt G37 sedans out there, and that's a plus to me. The MAIN factor was I already have a mid eleven second coupe, so no real need for another one. From what I've heard the sedans are around 80 pounds lighter than the coupe due to the door frame design? . Weird huh?

There's a great article in this month's Modified Mag on this subject, wheel weight is only one of several factors that ultimately affect the rotating mass...check it out, it's the one w/ the silver GT-R on the cover.

Check out the 18" Gram Lights, they weigh 22 lbs each per TireRack website:

I'm curious how they look on the G37 Sedan.
