How to adjust coilover height?

Just want to make sure I adjust the right thing when I lower my front..

I assume its the 2 big nuts that you need the wrenches to loosen. I think the lower one is the lock and the one above it adjust the height. So I'm guessing I need bring the top one down a few turns then.

Hopefully others with coils can jump in, thanks

you don't want to mess with the preload on the spring. what you want to do is spin the entire shock with coil over it so that it shortens the amount of visible threads.

if you don't know you take it to a shop. plus you will need to realign your car after. take it to a shop so they can measure it and get each side as close as possible.

great idea solo...but brian loves to do things himself or give it a go...

bri, also if u decide to do it urself, make sure u count the rings to make sure they are even on both sides...from left to right...

hope this helps at all..

adjusting coilover isn't hard...it's getting it right which is the major concern...

most people think that coilovers are meant to adjust the height of the vehicle, etc etc....that's partially true....coilovers are actually meant to adjust the weight distribution of the vehicle....to correctly set the coilovers, u need to put ur car on 4 scales (one on each wheel) and adjust accordingly until ur car is 50/50 weight distribution..or whatever ur aiming for...

Thank you, that correct, I'm going to try to adjust them tomorrow afternoon like 3pm so I would like some more info on how to do this.

From whats been said I move the ring up higher which makes the spring shorter and that hopefully should slam me further

Dont adjust the spring.

loosen the rings on the bottom, then grab the shock cylinder and turn it, before doing this you want to measure the entire length of the coilover. As you turn itll get shorter or longer, so if you want it lower, twist it to make it shorter, constantly measuring. repeat on opposite side, just make sure both sides are the same height.
