My stock summer performance tires are going to need to be replaced this spring after all the snow melts. FWIW, they have around 15K mi on them. I really want to bump up to wider all-season tires. All-season so I can drive it more next year, and hopefully get some more life out of them. However, some people claim that wider tires will make the steering feel "looser" and the car feel "floaty." I'd rather not compromise performance just so I can get wider tires.

So to all you guys out there who threw 245/255 fronts and 275/285 rears on your Gs, did you notice a big difference in the driving "feel" of your car? If you're dropped on Eibachs (I am), did you have any issues with rubbing? I'll never track or race; this is my daily driver. So did anyone else out there go with all-seasons instead of the summer performance tires?

I am worried about this too. I want to purchase new Nitto Invo 275/35 for the rears and put 245/40 on front.

The handle just fine- not looser. There is the feeling of more grip in the corners. To me every aspect of the cars handling now feels better than before. Ther eare quite a number of threads about this is you check around as well.

Yea don't worry about doing his guys. I'm slammed probably more than anyone on here and I got 275s on my rears and it feels great, no problems

255/275 here. What he said. I have UHP Summer, not A/S tires though. One negative Ive found is this - a slight increase in propensity to hydroplane on very wet roads. This is just the laws of physics and will always happen when you hve a greater contact patch from a larger tire size - it just goes with the territory. Other than than that only positives about the handling, no gnegatives that I've noticed.

My tires are in pretty good shape at 15k, but I bought it used with 2k miles on it already. Probably 8-10K of the miles I put on it are highway miles from various road trips. I only live a mile away from work, so I drive like an old lady to and from work. They really have very little hard driving under their belt, so they've probably got another 10k left in them. I want wider tires because I got dropped on Eibach's on Monday and now the stock tires just don't look right to me!

ic. I'm looking to get 245 and 275 as well. I'd like to figure out how much life I have left on the stocks just so I know and can use them as secondaries.

I drove a friend's G on Eibachs, 245 and 275. Felt like I could feel the road more.

Does anyone have any pictures with Eibachs and 245s and 275s are their car? I was just wondering if there would be some tire tuck or not.

Search around, a few people have it. The drop is not that big but with stock offset, the tires do get a little tucked.

This set up is great. I used to have 255 & 285 in the rear of my G35 and I didn't like the under steer I got from that set-up. When I first got my coils, I was really pushing the car hard, but I was still on the stock width, and the rear just kept wanting to kick out. IMO, the 245/275 set up is perfect. It all depends though on your driving style.

Excuse me for being noobish here, but what do you mean by "tucked?" Do you mean the fender flare sticks out laterally further than the sidewall of the tire, or do you mean the road surface of the tire sticks up higher than the bottom of the wheel well (is that possible?)?

Gotcha. So the stock wheels with stock offsets will be more like the first picture. I get it now!
