I am not sure how the KWs are ride quality wise, but i assume that all coilovers are a bit stiffer (in a good way!) in regards to handling and performance...
however, reading your post you say you don't want to sacrifice ride quality at all, in that case i would have to tell you to get a ride just to feel it before you buy, just to make sure your ok with it.
FWIW, i believe that the AWD system has nothing to do with how high or low the car sits, changing the suspension will be just fine.

thanks for the info. I am just weary because my rsx is lowered on just eibachs and the ride is horrible. Sounds and feels like I hit a wall when I hit a bump or hole in the road. I don't want a nice car like the G to ride poorly like that. That's why I'm skeptical of keeping stock everything and just switching springs...

I would highly recommend the KW Variant 3s. As long as you set up the suspension correctly, the ride quality will be just fine. I run these in my car and we have tested them on our G37 here and they are great. Give us a call at the shop and we would be more than happy to set you up with a pair.
