How many miles do you have on your new rotors and on the car all together?

I might have to go with some Stoptech crossdrilled and slotted rotors then.

No, I am East coast. Had a black vert 97 M3 though, sold it in 2005.

Yea, I'd confirm that with other folks with swapped slotted/drilled rotors but I'd bet this would solve it. I'm on OEM's modded by Brake Performance and back into my garage every day as well as parking at work... squeeking would not be an acceptable occurance.

Yea it is a fairly common thing to happen, the brakes are glazed or worn and don't make the sound in the direction they travel 99.8% of the time but do in reverse. You can get the rotors turned and cleaned and solve it for sure, my bet is though that slotted rotors would help keep this from reoccuring as well. Once more folks move to them we'll hopefully have some proof to confirm.

I too have the same exact annoying problem, and like everyone here, I think it's not okay to have any car whose breaks squeak in reverse... How can this be "normal" operation? Would everyone think it's "normal" to happen going forward?

In the meantime... I like to make myself feel better by thinking I have an audible reverse alarm (like beep beeep beeeep... but more like squeeeeeek squeeeeek)

Mine is doing it too (8 months old). To the people who say this is "normal"....are you out of your freakin minds??? 45+k for a car and it squeals....not normal peoples!!! I have had many cars and never has this happened. It is embarrassing and I am not going to let my dealer turn the rotors (as he suggested too) as this will cost me money on breaks quicker than normal.

Ps: I've also had the "sparking" noise coming from the exhaust fixed and just got my car out yesterday for the muffler replacement because some baffles let go....two more embarrassing noises from an expensive car....ok...enough bitching....I do absolutely love this car and Infiniti (had the 2003 G35 & 2005 FX35)
