the thing i'm scared of the most is if i get my G and use it for the winter i might be ****ed... There is this very steep hill that goes up to the road of my school and its the only way to get to the school.. im scared it might not make it up there during the winter with the snow/ice of the upstate new york region. I heard of blizzak's but i dont know how amazing they are and if it will get the G up with snow on the ground.

I have 19'' winter wheel setup, and I recommend 18s instead. The 18s on my G35 coupe worked much better, never got stuck or had any problems in Michigan snow.

However, I found it tougher to get moving on the 19s in the G37. Once the car is going over 10mph, you will be fine. Just be careful, cuz there isn't much ground clearance and this car is a fat@ss, so once you start sliding its gonna be awhile before you stop...

I ran 17's. Our roads can get damn rough in the winter so the taller side wall helps the ride a lot.

Put on a set of snow tires and you're all set. Don't drive the stock tires, i was skidding all over the place.

Do you get real snow? Like a real winter? Honestly, if you get real winters with real snow & ice, you should not drive a G37 without snow tires. I'm not saying this to you, but to all G37 owners. You may be fine, but I guarantee the overwhelming majority of G37 owners who get real winters will mess up if they stick with the stock tires.

Previous cars were 3-Series, IS300, & now G37. The G37 handles the worst of the 3 in winter, probably due to the tires, not something inherent with the car itself.

The 1st yr the IS300 came out, tons of folks were insisting people would be fine without snow tires ("just drive with common sense"), then a ton of IS300 owners crashed.

Stupid question but just want to be thurough.
I have a set of 18's of an 08 350Z with snow tires and I want to put them on my G37S for the winter.

I know the G and the Z are pretty much the same.
So the Z wheels should clear the brakes?

For the record I have driven a 350Z now in the winter for three years here in MI
They are fine with snow tires, just don't drive like an idiot when its bad out.
Suck it up get behind an 18 wheeler on the highway and just cruise...
Stock tires if you get any sort of snow or ice would be a BAD idea.
I tried it at first and WOW, skiddish at best

What size winter tires do you guys recomend for the 37S? I called Infiniti and they said 225-45-18 front / 245-45-18 rear but when I checked TireRack their package is for 4 225-50-18.

I spent last winter on my Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 although they were on my Acura RL with AWD, still a scary experience. Turning and stopping worked out the electronic control nannies. I'm in Indiana and although we don't get crazy snow, I will be investing in Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 for my G, I have to be able to get to work and its cheaper than buying a SUV. Plus my wife's Honda Odyssey is no better!!

I'm going to buy the exact same stock 19" size Blizzak for mine. Although I might not stagger and just go with the same narrower size all around. We just don't get a lot of the deep stuff in Indy, so I haven't quite decided.
