One occasion at racing track event. I was chasing an GTS. For our car being heavier and less HP. Only way to keep up was to brake later. Closing my gap for about 3 laps, than brakes started to fade. It was fun but I think with Brake duct will be even better.

Pics of how the ducting runs please?

Also, you have constructed a brake cooling duct system but still run the OEM rubber brake lines. Upgrading the lines will not help you with overheating at all, but will improve pedal feel and modulation. Speed bleeders will help you to bleed the brakes easier and quicker too since you have to do that way more often that the average guy who's not tracking the car. Just suggestions.

I am planning on SS Brake lines @ 40K Miles. Now less than 20K Miles. Rubber should last at least 40K.

Thanks for the suggestion. I use RBF 660. Also bleed using Motive Power Bleeder.

Since last summer I don't ask my son, 8 yrs old. To step on the brakes while I bleed the lines. LOL.

Running the duct on driver side is quite easy. Will loop from backside of coilovers @ 90 degree angle straight in. If duct height is 9'oclock. Tire will rub. Make sure the duct height is about 11'oclock on the tires.

Now passenger side, will be a challenge. If I had Injen CAI with smaller wiper fluid bottle, NP. However stock wiper bottle blocks all passages. I will try my best to run the duct without cutting anything. When I succeed I will post pictures.

I too thought about getting some cooling ducts. I was looking at those two plastic ducts wanting to do the exact same thing. I had Akebonos on my old g35 as a big brake upgrade kit, and they ran very very cool. On my V36 my brakes run way too hot even in regular spirited driving, I read its because they changed the aerodynamics on the cars and do not provide sufficient airflow to the front brakes. Alot of the 370z guys are talking about brake ducts.

I was going to run them just like the stillen kit with the hoses just pointed at the inner rotor, I believe that would be the most effective, but I'm very curious on the templates.

Just what I was looking for. I already have the steel lines and ATE Blue fluid changed. This should help tremendously as I have a track day scheduled for May 12. I already have double oil coolers up front for the oil and tranny so I am very excited now. PM has been sent to you for template.

I found a company that produces plastic ducts of various sizes like on NASCAR that should fit nicely but your template for the rotors is pretty awesome. I race other cars and this will be the first track day for the G and after reading other posts about the limitations I want to make sure I am ready as I possibly can.

I found a site today at work that has a stillen brand made for the 370Z. I am sure it could be worked to fit the G37 as well but man is it a bit pricey. They claim to have a drop of 140 degree at the rotor so it should work with some modification for G37. Link is listed below

Well, I have Akebono BBK, with the front DBA5000 2-piece rotors and rear Stoptech slotted rotors, with the Motul DOT 5.1 fluid and sport pads Ferodo DS2500.

I never went to track, just like spirited driving and i DO FEEL that I need this duct cooling, as even my rather good brakes-combo overheats too much when I drive aggresive! I don't know guys, how you drive with the stock brakes or even stock Akebonos...

Anyway this was done last year by a couple of local Infiniti forum users and the only choice you have on a passenger side is to cut washer fluid tank (the only reason I haven't done it yet):

For ducting you do not need nothing fancy like Nascar. Good old Fiber Glass Flex Duct does the job. +- $80 at amazon.com you will need at least 10 foot.

Template sent to your email

let me know how you did tranny? I am interested in cooling my 6MT too.

Yeah they did release for 370Z the day after I bought all the parts and tools. Bumb could have saved me a lot of trouble.

Not recommended for street use. Actually during my normal driving I do cover up the duct using tape. To ensure some heat to the brakes.

Regarding the fluid tank since I don't use wiper. I just removed the bottle completely.
