Hybrid Tanabe springs... whadd'ya think?

I have the Tannabe NF210 for the G37 and love them. The ride is almost like stock, no harshness or bounciness. The drop is almost exactly what I was looking for... almost.

The rears are perfect - they drop the car .7" and eliminate wheeel well gap and it isn't so slammed that I rub or scrape driveways. The front is good but not perfect. It could be a little bit lower to eliminate the Godawful front wheel well gap that every Nissan product ever produced seems to have. My solution? Hybrid Tanabe springs!

The NF210 springs have the same part number for the '08 G37 Coupe and the '07 G35 Sedan (TNF130). They drop the sedan 1" F/ 1.3" R and the coupe 1" F / .7" R. They are listed as "spring rate is raised no more than 5% over stock". The DF210 advertises "spring rate is raised no more than 10-15%" and the part number is TDF130. The drop the '07 G35 Sedan 1.4" F & R. If it the DF210 drops the sedan .4" more in front than the NF210 for the same applicaton, and the part numbers are the same for the NF210 for '08 Coupe and '07 Sedan, does it not stand to reason that the DF210 shoud be the same part number for both, will fit, and will drop the Coupe .4" more in front? I think I'll get a set of DF210 for the '07 Sedan application and just use the front springs to even out the ride height front and rear while keeping the NF210 on the rear.

Make that sense? What do you think?

I got mine form Amped. Dont know if they are in stock now. HP Autoworks has them.

I'm going to do it! Worst case scenario if I don't like it, I can change back and sell someone the DF210 who wan't a bigger drop.

I love my tanabes too but the front needs atleast another 1/4 of an inch drop. If this works I might do it myself.

How will uneven spring rates affect handling?

You're going to see a difference but I'd bet some sways would help.

I think the difference in handling will be minimal because they are only a slight difference in spring rate. If the front is slightly stiffer it should make the car lean more toward understeer.

Front and rear sways are on Betty as soon as they are available from Tanabe.

So you going to do this?

I just did my NFs tonight and agree that the rear is perfect....the front is less than it used to be but could go down some more....of course I need to settle more than just tonight to pass final judgment.
