Greetings,

My G37S has 1000 miles on it. To hold a straight line, I need to steer 0.25" to the left to go straight. If the steering wheel is centered, the car steers a wee bit to the right. I know it's not much, but it's just a little anoying. It does not pull in either direction and braking is perfectly straight.

I spoke to the service department today and was informed that Infiniti does NOT have the specs to align the G37; therefore, no alignment.

Has anyone experienced the same situation (not centered) with the steering wheel? Second, does anyone know whether Infiniti has the specs for an alignment? And finally, what are your thoughts on an independent tire shop?

How can they not have the specs? It is in the service manual.

 

I did a little research and found the specs...however, upon returning to the dealer (with specs in hand) I was informed they miscommunicated. They have the specs, however, they need a tech to calibrate their alignment machine with the new specs.

The tech person should be in next week. Sorry about any misunderstanding or confusion.

I thought I read a thread somewhere that said Infiniti gave a free alignment if your car is less than 12k miles or one year whichever is first. Might wanna check.

 

A useful tip - thanks. I assume that since the car has only 1000 miles on it; the warranty would cover it...I'll find out next week.

UPDATE
I had the alignment completed yesterday (yep, all four wheels). The dealership was able to update their alignment rack with the new specs for G37S's.

The alignment was off considerably, but all is spot on today. Best of all, no charge.

No more misaligned (you know how us Marines hate misalignments); the steering wheel is perfectly straight.

Furthermore, I was informed by the tech guy that because I replaced my rear wheels with 275's the car might want to wander either left or right on the freeway. So far, so good.

Are you asking me...if so, I really don't know, I think many dealers are different...however, you can ask.

^^^After you lower a car, you are supposed to realign it.

 

Yes, if you pay them and they can use their equipment.

But not free under warranty if the suspension was altered.

 

I would have to agree with TerryCS...altering the suspension by replacing springs, etc should not be covered under warranty...just my $0.02 worth.

 

can someone please point me to the alignment specs for the g37s or post them here! I need them
