i got 4WAS and its alright nothing special... Im from canada and flew to spokane to grab it and I wanted a black on black 6MT full load and it was the only one on the lot with it! Im not a track star and from wat i hear really the 4WAS is good for bootin around town and some faster lane changes etc! They also threw it in for free sooo i dont really care, I had a full load same one comin from St louis to spokane without it and they called me to tell me they couldnt get that one so they said theyd give me the same one on their lot with it for the same price.. its a i think $1500 option so i was like ok toss er in i guess.... no regrets and if it does do something rock on if not nothing lost there cuz i dont got rims or a drop but next summer i for sure will so im sure by then ppl will have their #^$% figured out... for all the haters dont judge were all in the same car some like their ride different! put in ur two cents but dont bash :P

I had a non-4WAS for about 6 months before some moron lady hit me and totaled my car. now I have a new G with 4WAS and there is a dramatic difference between the two for me. Having owned and driven both cars in nearly every kind of situation, there are dramatic differences. I also seem to have no lack of sideways fun in the 4WAS version. It was a little eerie at first feeling like I was in a slow drift in the parking garage, but it comes in quite handy the turning radius feels smaller than the non-4WAS. I think I might be one of the few folks who have extensive experience driving both vehicles in a number of driving situations.
Personally, I like it, I don't much notice the extra weight. however, I don't care for the extra complication that I'm likely to face when I want to do anything to the rear end whether it be trying to clear the 4WAS actuator with an exhaust designed on the non 4-was car or lowering and correcting for camber without changing the geometry of the system.

from what i hear, 4was is nice for daily driver type road use...things like sharper turns, lane changes, fast exit and on ramps, etc feel nicer...however for raw tracking i hear its better without so that the system does not interfere with your cars natural performance (eg drifting) when pushed to the limits...
me personally i got it because my model was on the lot as I wanted her, FULLY loaded black on black 6 M/T.....I wasn't about to special order to get it without 4WAS...sooo...yeah...
BTW - is it true that us 4WAS owners will have more trouble or issues when going for aftermarket exhaust and that some systems will be non compatible with 4WAS?? Also 4WAS doesn't have any separate maintenance functions needed to run properly over the years does it???

I bought the car with 4was because the only one on the lot that had the manual trans and the sport package came with it. The dealer was blowing out the 08's and I couldn't pass it up. I did read a magazine review that said that the 4was probably wasn't worth getting. That being said, I have no complaints so far. The car is a blast to drive. Now when Tein gets their S-Techs done...... Any recommendations on camber adjusters, etc?
