Keep in mind the section width is measured side wall to side wall, and its not the width of the bead or tread. So a tire with a 9" wide tread may only have an 8.5" sidewall. This is most pronounced on truck tires with tall sidewalls.

I'm going to assume you meant a tire with a 9" side wall may only have an 8.5" tread. I guess that is true, I just doubt its too big since our fairly low profile tires don't squat too much. That is worth noting though.

I figured you'd want the front to be slightly shorter for a more aggressive look/stance (hunkered down, ready to pounce, lions/tigers/bears oh my).

So these are the options I'd think.

275/35-19 3.8in 13.3in 26.6in 83.5in 759 -1.7%

So you either go with the stock look of the front being slightly taller, or the aggressive look with the front being slightly shorter.....

How does the car calculate speed? All 4 tires? just the front, just the rear? I wonder because the 275/35-19 on the rear will be pretty close to stock speeds so no speedo adjustment needed, however the front of 255/35 would be off by almost 2mph, so it would need an adjustment. Sorry for all the long talks, blame work.

personally i would not run toyo's. some people dont them for the price but personally i would never run them. The only tires i would run besides the oem stones would be Bridgestone RE-01's but its a super soft tire and will wear out fast. personally i am running these on my gramlights., second would be the Michelin pilot sport PS2, next would be the oem re050's, and last would be the pirelli pzero roso's.

You would run the re050's over the perilli???? From the list you gave, I'd be going Michelin Pilots. To each his own I guess.

yes the pirelli's have a lot of road noise. and are pretty soft but dont provide the grip dry or wet of the re050's. Thats the main reason porsche moved away from using them as oem tires and went with the stones and michelins due to better wear rate and better grip in both dry and wet. I have driving experience on both tires and the stone is a better tire. The michelin is also a great tire. thats what i ran on my M3. i was very happy with the tire although it squeeled a lot when pushed hard but still had good grip. In my opinion its the best all around tire, great wet/dry grip with good wear ratings. Personally i am running the stone RE01 tire because it gives by far the best dry weather handling, its a little below the michelin in wet weather but thats ok. the main issue is it wears pretty quick. but i dont mind
