370z Nismo Springs on G37 Sedan RWD
Today I installed pre-2015 370z red nismo springs on my 2012 G37S Sedan RWD. There seemed to be a lack of information about how much the rear springs will drop a G sedan, so I am here to clear this up. The install was straightforward as expected.
There are two different 370z nismo springs. The red springs are stiffer and are on the pre-2015 models. The black springs are from 2015+ models.
2012 G37 RWD sport sedan 6MT with pre-2015 red nismo springs:
Front drop - .75"
Rear drop - 1 1/8" - 1 1/4"
The drop actually doesn't look too bad. You can tell that the rear is slightly lower than the front now. I would probably even keep it this way if I wasn't worried about my rear camber. I bought these springs hoping for a mild drop front and rear and to be a cost-effective solution without having to buy any supporting equipment to fix camber. I will probably try to find a way to raise the rears by about 3/8 - 1/2" and then it will be perfect.
The ride quality is close to the same. It seems to follow closely what I researched beforehand. The fronts feel nearly the same, whereas the rear seems a bit stiffer. But I'm no expert nor do I have any track / autox experience. I'll report more on how it feels within the next month or two.
Onto the pictures! Keep in mind the rears MAY have settled another 1/8" after I took these pictures, but this is really close. I went on a drive and tossed the car around a bit before coming back and taking these pics. I have a half tank of gas and the spare + tools are removed.

Before - FRONT 28" and REAR 27 3/4"
After - FRONT 27 1/4" and REAR 26 5/8"
EDIT: I should also mention my tire and wheel setup since it's different than stock and it affects ride height.
Front wheels: Superspeed RF03RR 18x8.5 +35 with Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 235/45/18
Rear wheels: Superspeed RF03RR 18.9.5 +38 with Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 255/40/18
Tire diameter is about -2 to -2.4% smaller than stock, so this makes the overall ride height a little lower.

So I've decided to do something about the drop in the rear. It's a little bit too much of a drop, so there were a few options to fix that without putting back on the stock sport springs and trimming the isolators. Some people have put some isolators on that fit inside the coil springs themselves, but I don't like that idea because I feel like it would mess with the springs ability to compress properly.
So I bought these isolators that I'm going to fit inside the stock rubber one that sits on top of the spring. The measurements seems like it will fit pretty snug inside it so this is the solution I'm going to go with to raise the height by about 1/4 - 3/8". By doing this, the rears should have a final drop of about 7/8" - 1".
Here's a pic of the stock isolator and then the piece that I bought to fit inside it.

Anything you do to the rear springs will affect ride height by 1.5x
So a 3/8" (.38") spacer will raise the car 0.57".
Damn dude I was looking all over for photos of using these Nismo springs on the G. You did this like a month too late. I already went a different route and now kinda wish I woulda done this haha.
Although, the rear shocks I went with do not have the rebound springs like stock. So maybe this wouldn't have worked for me because the 370Z springs are so short. Proper procedure would be to use shorter 370Z shocks for safety.
How do you like it? ride quality, etc. And did you just reuse your stock G shocks? Or use 370Z shocks?
The 370Z Nismo rear spring must be significantly stiffer than stock.
My guess is that the rates are similar to swift.

There seems to be a lack of info and pics about putting nismo springs on a G, so thats why I'm providing real useful info here.
I reused the stock sport shocks from the G. Ride quality seems pretty close to the same. I did notice that the car is a bit harsher over small bumps. I think the front spring rate is very close to the same, while the rear is stiffer. I haven't had much time to drive it yet though so i don't have a thorough review yet.
I'm running Eibach sways with the front set to the softer setting and the rear is medium. I've been considering switching the front to the stiffest to tighten up the front a bit and leaving the rears the same since it has increased spring rate now.

Cool! thanks for posting. I'm sure a lot of people will find this useful.
I'm planning to post my own suspension thread soon, when I have some time.

Amazing documentation! Looks like working with the height of the rear spring by using an isolator is the best thing you can do with the nismo spring. I wonder if any rear 350z spring or coupe spring mixed with the 370z nismo fronts would look like.

For ride quality, most cars come with effectively higher rear spring rates.

That looks really good man! Glad you are able to make them work all while providing some definitive insight on the rear springs for the G sedan. The stance is near the same level as the Swifts from what I can tell, with the front being a little higher. How do they ride?

I've already said a couple times how it rides Just scroll up.
I'm installing a small additional isolator on top of the rear spring to raise it by about 3/8 - 1/2" and I'll be posting the updated pictures of it this weekend.

Thank you very much for the compliment and for selling me the springs! It's been a very cost-effective way to drop the car. $140 for the springs and like $18 for the isolators. I shouldn't have to buy camber adjustment stuff either with the mild .75" drop.
I'll be getting window tint after winter is over and an OEM front and rear spoiler and that should complete the "OEM+ / Sport+" look that I'm going for.

I posted the results of the isolator spacers in the droopy bum fix thread.

It turned out perfectly for my tastes!
Front drop is now 3/4" and the rears are 7/8".
