Rear diff bushing - Is mine toast?

Exploring the forums and saw the rear differential bushings are prone to failure. I inspected mine and it looks like it may have started leaking. Please see picture. Let me know your opinions. Thank you.

that doesn't look like its leaking, usually theres a vertical drip line of black fluid from the bushing on the diff cover and the exhaust...yours looks clean except maybe someone spray painted the sub frame around the bushing or something (Rust preventer/converter?)...what mileage are you at?..if you're high miles you may want to change it anyways

I'm at 33k. Maybe it was sprayed when I had my rear diff serviced recently...not sure.

You bushing is not leaking. Rest easy, but check on it every now and then.

Mine blew out at 42,xxx. Leaked onto the rear diff cover. Great excuse to tell the wife I needed the Z1 differential upgrade package. Trust us, you will know when it has gone out.

@ss end gets all floppy like? I check mine each time I do an oil change (once a year). Easy enough to peak under there with the car off the ground.

Thanks for the pic. I have a small stain below mine on the sub frame, but nothing even close to that.

Floppy is an understatement. Excessive wheel hop in wet conditions, when it first goes if you listen close enough you will hear a “POP” sound from the rear end, torque seems nonexistent in my opinion.

Recently looked under again and found this:
It must have just started, it was just at the dealer and they would have noticed this.

It's that time of the month for your [car's] rear end. If you have a warranty let them fix it, otherwise, going after market should be somewhat cheaper. There's a few DIY's in the tech section.

Oh, and there's another fix involving filling it up with epoxy.

Quick rundown on dealership life. If your car is under warranty and I KNOW they saw it because you can’t miss it, 9/10 times is the Tech didn’t want to do it because it doesn’t pay well. Warranty work is severely underpaid compared to customer pay(when your car is out of warranty). If your mechanically inclined you can do it at home. It will take about 6 hours to do.
