Brake line, battery J-hook, keep your eye on it if you like brakes

When I changed my battery, I noticed the J-hook sticks out pretty far going straight for the brake line. Couldn't even get an eyeball on it to see clearance. So I took the J-hook, laid it flat on the ground and hammered the hook closed more, filed off the bur from hammering. Then reinstalled it. Now I can clearly see a gap between the brake line and hook end as pictured. The factory bend radius on the hook is to wide and close to the brake line for my comfort. Throw in some chassis flex with that small of a gap and one day you may be saying "Dude where's my brakes".

Is this on the front of the battery or the firewall side?

Ok, this is the front of the battery, visible without taking anything apart.

Mine has about 1/4" gap between the two.
