Great advice^^^, and if you ever have to remove rusted/seized bolts spray the best rust breaker there is, a 50:50 mix of Acetone & ATF, beats PB blast by a factor of three.

So I ran into a problem and was wondering if you guys could help me out. I cant screw the bolt back in, i believe the bolt has a slight bend it, not allowing the nut to go through all the way.

here are pictures showing the bolt that wont tighten, ive used an impact gun breaker bar but nothing works. Does anyone know the part number? I have a 2010 g37x coupe. Thank you

You highlighted two different things. Are you sure you're using the correct bolts and everything is lined up correctly?

Pop into the dealer and buy all the bolts/nuts you removed. I suspect they are all damaged.

With all due respect, please double check you work. The questions that you have asked suggest that you have not looked at the shop manual or done much suspension work. I

If I have read this wrong, please disregard this post.

You are correct I highlighted the wrong area on the first picture. Its supposed to be the lower part. Let me redo the edit on the image! Thanks for the comment.

I have looked into the suspension work and double checked all my work, the problem is the bolt won't screw back in. I did the other side of the car completely fine with no problems. This bolt on the other hand is giving me problems. I thought it was the nut at first, so I tried the side that worked fine. I used that nut on the bolt that wasn't good and still nothing worked. So it all comes down to the bolt. It seems that the threads got expanded somehow and are more coarse then fine. And they have to be finely threaded.

But yes you are correct this is my first time changing out the suspension, I'm more of a DIY type of person and we all start somewhere.

Do you by any chance know what the part number would be? It stops screwing in when the threads get more coarse making it impossible to bolt back on. Also is that the lower control arm bolt? I went to the dealership today and they had no idea what bolt that was... I might have explained it wrong but I thought they would be able to tell just by looking at it.

Give them your VIN and tell them to look at the front lower control arm to print out the diagram of it...the bolt and nut should be showing in it next to strut horseshoe. They will have to order it in there is no way they have it in stock...I looked in my 2010 factory service manual and I saw the bolt in FSU-31 diagram, print that out and bring it in with you.

You can try this page it doesn't show the path of the bolts but it looks like 7 and 8 would be what you are looking for...my best guess but again I cant see the path...there is only one other fat bolt down there and it's for the inner part of the lower control arm (maybe it uses the same bolt size)

2010 Infiniti G37 X Suspension Components

Bolt 54550-EG00D
Nut 55269-EG00A

Thanks again so much! I think that may be it, im the same year and X model, I don't think there should be a difference between coupe and sedan. Just looking at the diagram and the picture I took it looks like thats the correct spot. Also If they don't have the bolt, do you think a grade 8 bolt from a hardware store would work for a short time?

Yea you could probably even go with a 1/2" (or whatever is the met eqiv.) of any kind temporarily, just dont hit the circuits until you get the oem bolt...Will be hard to find the exact replacement at the hardware store and they will prob rust out real fast too if you could find one that would fit ok

Thanks again so much! I bought 2 different bolt sizes at the hardware store and it seems the 1/2'' is a bit too big. I tried the 7/16'' it seems to fit but still a tad smaller then the oem but not a huge difference, I might just do the 7/16'' and use washers if they don't have that bolt in stock just for the time being, I also don't plan on driving that car until I get the replacement bolt. I just wanna be able to lower my car haha.
