Using the floor jack is not a bad suggestion if I get into a bind. Good tip!

We used a 2' long 1/2 drive cheater bar on the top bolt and it took two of us pulling on it to break it.

So the anti-seize can be used on bolts? I've never used the stuff, but did see in a video it was recommended on the hub face, after cleaning it and before the rotor goes on.

I bought those Centric brake pads too, so far they've been great. Check out Amazon warehouse deals, I ended up getting the fronts 60% off because there was a "like new" set available; I'm guessing someone bought the wrong part and returned it, but it's easy to see that a brake pad is unused so I was confident.

Yes, that copper-based anti seize can & should be used on bolts that are subject to road salts, and other corrosives, and ones that are torqued down pretty good, especially exhaust & brake fasteners.

Just following up here - so I bought the Centric rotors and pads, but had no time to install them - work is crazy with a security implementation, plus Christmas and family, shopping, etc....

I also needed a new battery and an alignment - so I took the car into a garage to have the work done.

Brake job using my parts - $160. New Everstart 24F battery, $99. Four wheel alignment, $79. Having the car back in 3 hours without a sore back and dirty fingernails - priceless!

Thanks everyone for the help.

I just did the front and rear brakes and rotors in my 12x sedan about 3k miles ago, I used the Centric cryo treated rotors (not slotted or drilled) and the Akebono Street Performance pads all around and the setup has been fantastic so far. I went through Tirerack and it came to about $480 but it was worth every penny, the braking is much more linear and there is absolutely no wobble at any speed or load, and this has been driving through some serious s@$% weather between Mt. Hood and the Oregon/Nevada high desert, and with a full load of camping gear and supplies. Centric and Akebono seem to really have their products hammered out for the G's, I highly recommend them!
