Brakes Squeak

I have a 2013 G37x Coupe. My brakes squeak for the first mile or so (usually at a slower speed/stop) when it rains or it is humid, and its very loud and annoying. I have asked the dealership and a couple repairs shops and they said - after checking my breaks are in great condition - that its moister accumulating and there's nothing I can do about it.

Just wondering if anyone here had a similar situation/solution for the problem.

Pretty normal but you can always try a different brake pad. I think someone said they had a similar issue and it ended up being one of the little metal brackets rubbing, but that wouldn't explain how it disappears on its own later.

Does it squeak when the brakes are applied or does it squeak even without the brakes being applied (just want to confirm)? I recently had a terrible squeaking problem in the morning or whenever I parked my car for extended amount of time and the squeak disappears after about 10-15mins of driving. What really confused me was how the squeaking sound would disappear, reappear and oscillate as the wheels turn. This happened when the brakes were both being applied and not at speeds of 5-15mph every morning.

When I took it to the dealers, they told me every reason from rust, to dust, to winter cold and to condensation and said it was normal. However, it turns out that in some past visits to my dealer, the tech had adjusted my parking brakes improperly and it was rubbing constantly. After the parking brakes were adjusted properly, the squeaking sound went away for me.

I don't know if this is whats causing your squeaking, but it might be worth the look and help you narrow down your problem.

For anyone who has switched rotors/brake pads from OEM, do you still get brake squeal? Primarily when reversing for me, but it's nearly time for me to do a brake job... just curious if switching to to Centric Premium rotors + Akebono ProACT will stop the squealing.

Cheers,

Prior to putting your car into reverse try to pump your brakes about 5-10 times and the squealing will be gone. I did it for a few weeks and then the squeal just went away.

Prior to that while reversing my car out if my driveway I probably woke up my entire street from how loud they'd squeal. And this was before and after I upgraded to Stoptech drilled and slotted rotors and new ceramic brake pads.

Mine goes away once the car is warmed up. It used to bother me but doesn't bother me anymore.
