Lowering question

I plan on buying some BC Coils for my X sometime next week. I just plan on rocking my oem 17s wheels. The drop is going to be right over tire. Do you think I will need a camber kit or anything else? Also does anyone think I will be scraping?

That is quite a drop to still be rocking 17s...I would think those would camber in rather far so yes, I'd look into camber kits.
Scraping...will depending on all the above and tire sizes.

Just an FYI that on the X there has been a handful of people that complained about the BC Coils and next level performance stated that 8 out of 10 customers with X has issues with clunking with those coils, the better option is Stance SS coilovers or Fortune 500. Anyways yes you would need a camber kit well at least for the rear not sure about the front someone can chime in. Depends how low they are ok scraping don't exactly know how low they are but in sure there is a appropriate setting for them not to scrape

anytime you drop the G more than 1 inch, more than likely you will need a camber correction kit

I like BC on my track car but as others have said on the G they seem to have an issue. I would save a little more and go with Stance or FA. I personally have FA and have been rocking them for close to 15k miles now with no issues. I went with swift springs.

All that said it's your money. To your questions: will you need a camber kit? Yes. If you are going to go for a fender at wheel height drop, you definitely will. Will you scrape? Most likely you will on hard inclines and horrible speed bumps at less then a crawl of a speed. I dropped 2.5 inches on my X and the main issue is my front lip.

I'm gonna hijack this a bit.

with camber kits, I have a vendor here who I've already spent considerable money with trying to sell me on a $500+ kit with new arms and everything. Im dropping only 2/1.2 front to rear respectively. thought I could just get new bolts for that? or do I need completely new arms too? anyone with a link to what I can buy to accomplish this?

Thanks.

you can get away with camber bolts with 1 inch drop on the rear, the front there are NO camber bolts, anything lower, you will need arms for sure.

and NO i'm not the vendor selling your the kit

no, the vendor I'm working with is amazing and done a wonderful job on everything. didn't mean for that to sound negative. just didn't want to spend ANOTHER $500 + install fees for something I wasn't taking into consideration......

Thanks though.

Your saying that with the G37 if you drop it 1 inch say with the Tanabe springs which drop it approximately 1 inch you need the arms?Is this an X thing because I have read those with the coupe S you dont need any adjustments with a 1 inch drop...

What I was trying to say is that you can get away with upgrading just the camber bolts if your drop is an inch or less. If you drop it more than 1 inch. You will need a camber arms with toe bolts.

My toe is nearly perfect, camber is -2.1 but I need it there. I'm on eibachs that drop more than an inch

you must running aggressive wheels. OEM camber spec is 1.1 to 1.7 negative camber
