Lost and confused about brakes.. Please help!

Okay guys so I'm in the market for some new brakes because I can't stand the embarrassing sqeauling any longer, so after doing research I was set on getting Akebono brakes like some of the people mention here in the fourms. I was about to pull the trigger on those and the guy at pep boys told me those are the one that came with the car? If that's the case then getting these Akebono won't stop the sqeauling for me. So now I'm back to square one so I need you guys to shine some light, like what he's saying is true? If not can you guys recommend me some brakes that doesn't squeal, leave little dust and same or better bite then OEM? Thanks!

There are different types of akebono pads.... Get some posi-quiets. Very good quality pads. And they're.... Quiet.

I've got Posi-Quiets with Akebono BBK and, as Sway said, they are quiet(LOL). I also have slotted Stop-Tech rotors if that makes any diff....

They're pretty low in the dust department too. And a great bite.

Full disclosure: I didn't have the BBK or rotors before the Posi-Quiets, so the 'bite' could just be better calipers and rotors.

I had brake judder issues, cured them with Stop Tech cryogenic slotted rotors, and HAWK HPS pads. No more judder issues, just straight, controlled stops. Easy to break in, just a couple of stops and you're good to go.

I'm assuming you have sports brakes... If so, that's because your oem now is huge compared to your accord... Your accord brakes were probably amazing compared to a 90s Dodge Ram 1500... (Worse brakes I've ever experienced) Have you looked at your Akebono calipers? They're ridiculous! I have the upgraded akebono pads and adam's rotors, and they bite like crazy... And they're super quiet! ... Until it gets even remotely cold. Then they're quite noisy until they warm up in about 3-5 stops.

Exact setup here on my '08 (had Hawk 5.0)
That with stainless steel brake lines made for an awesome feel while braking. Cryogenic rotors FTW!
