What is the absolute highest these can get on the sedan 6MT Sport? Is it 26 3/4 all the way around or can it go up to 27? I am considering these or Swift Springs.

I'd shoot a PM to Rochester, he's done some pretty good measurements on these (at least the back set) and should be able to help. The fronts should be able to drop a bit higher than that without issue.

No, don't PM Rochester.

There's probably another 1/4" left in the threads that would allow me to peg the rear at 27.0" FTG. However, don't take my word for it. There really no way to tell, because you can't see the threads. Best you can do is feel around on the inside and guess.

I suppose if you count the exposed threads, then estimate the thread coverage of the rings, and compare that to the total number of threads available... whatever that was.

Sorry, I am new to coilovers, but if you keep spinning those green rings down they will fall off the threads? There is no actual stopping point to keep them from falling off?

I guess you are saying that you have to put your hand inside the spring and feel if there is any thread left to spin down on? Is this correct?

Are the fronts able to go to 27 FTG as well?

The reason I am asking is I don't want to bottom out anywhere. 26 3/4 FTG from what I am reading is about just right for a daily driver. 27 FTG would seem to be even safer.

You've got two threaded rings, they tighten against each other to lock-in the height setting. FWIW I'm at 26.25" and find that pretty good for daily driving, I doubt you'd have any issues at Rochesters' height unless you have a real severe angled driveway or some illegally huge speed humps to deal with.

Right, you can spin them off. The lower ring is flanged for greater thread coverage. If you reach up inside the middle of the spring, you want to make sure the edge of the lower ring flange is deeper than the edge of the spindle. If they're side by side, that's as high as you can go.

The only way to know for sure is to measure the components while they're in your hands, before installing them. Failing that, ask Tein or a reseller to give you measurements, which would be exposed thread count when the rings are at full extension. But even then, you'd have to know how to translate that into inches.

Anybody bottom out with the tein basis coilovers- got them last month & shop set coilovers to 26.5
After installation there is a squeaky/squishy noise from front over speed bumps & the occasional bottoming out

Talking extremely satisfied with 50k miles and counting

ive been running my tein basis coilovers for 50k miles now and theyre still running pretty solid. i would highly recommend these coilovers to anyone that wants bang for your buck coilovers that can still handle occasional spirited driving.

my fender apex to ground are 26 3/8 and I rarely bottom out. I am aware of dips and bumps but am probably over cautious. I want to go lower but do appreciate not hearing my car scrape so I don't. There is a slight gap but not much. it rides nice. I'm happy with my Basis but really wish I would have spent the extra $300 or so and got the Flex with dampening adjustments.

I have mine set between 26.5/26.75 just because its always slighty off, and have no issues bottoming out, and the speedbumps where I live are horrendous. I do have the occasional small clunk if the angle and harshness of bump is EXTREME, but its very rare. I would go through and make sure all your top hat main nuts are torqued down properly as thats usually what causes consistent clunks is them getting loose and allowing play. I used some loctite on them and they've held well for 6 months.

So I bought the tein flex z about 2months ago def not as better then the sport suspension in my opinion. This is my first time messing with CO's so maybe I haven't found that setup I'm looking for? Nor Cal roads are not the smoothest

mine is set to 25 5/8 in the fronts and i have zero issues. @huan if ur saying the flex is not better than sport stock suspension something is wrong. this is why i went with basis z so i dont have to deal with setting the damper. just something better out the box

Like I said these are my first ever CO's maybe I haven't found that setup I'm looking for. I needed with the rebound not knowing it was factory set to. I'm fairly new to all this modding
