Brake problems

Anyone having trouble with stock brakes squeaking when you still have good brake pads?. Any recommendations?.

Last edited by blnewt; 02-14-2015 at 12:11 AM. Reason: it's brakes, not breaks

How the hell did you spell recommendations correctly, and butcher brakes and squeak?

Ok, now that that's fixed~
Calipers & pads can start a high frequency vibration when there's a lack of grease between the moving metal to metal contact points.
Using CRC caliper grease (or something similar) on the brake pad backing plates (and the sides of the backers) and any pins and clips that move and contact metal need a light coat as well.
That should quiet them down again.

That's good advice from Brad, also if your pads are under about 50% of material left they are going to be more prone to squeak. There's no real reason for it, it's just a well known Nissan/Infiniti problem. Are they just squeaking when you back up, or every time you stop? I replaced my pads with Akebono ProAct front and rear, and every time I back out of the driveway they squeak like crazy. Once I pull forward and apply the brakes they don't squeak any more. Good luck with your issue, and good on you for not getting butt hurt over the spelling jab. (I'm a little ocd about that kind of stuff, that's MY issue)

Absolutely not! You want to put that on the BACK of the pads where they contact the caliper. You don't want any of that on the rotor(disc) at all.

I've tried all kinds of tricks and it wouldn't go away until the rotors were replaced with aftermarket

This CAN'T be stressed enough. DO NOT PUT anything between the pads and the rotor.
