Which Pads for Akebono Daily Driver?
After taking my car to the dealership and being told my brakes were fine even though they are squealing I have decided to just go on and upgrade to Akebono rather than trying to figure out the source of the squealing.
Because this is a daily driver, and obviously I do not want squealing I was wondering if someone could make pad recommendations for the Akebono kit. I do not want any squealing, would like them to be low dust, and to hopefully have performance and durability as well, though not squealing is#1.
I was going to get the kit from Tunerzstore.com with the Hawk HPS. Are these good for daily driving or should I go with something else?

That is a really expensive solution for a brake squeak. Did you try changing pads and making sure all hardware was properly lubricated? I have the Akebono brakes stock and I have Hawk Ceramic pads and they are low dust and don't have any squeal at all for the last couple of years. But I made sure to properly lubricate everything when installing them.
HPS are not known for low noise so you are just asking for trouble there.

Well, I was going to upgrade to Akebono anyway, but I was going to change these pads because of the squeal, but found out they were fine. I was looking at the Hawk Ceramics as well. Good to know about the HPS as I thought they might not be low noise. Wondering if anyone else has ideas about pads as well.

Expensive upgrade as BB stated. I did the same thing but because of warped rotors on all four corners of the car. (145-0 as fast as I could). The "upgrade" to Akebonos fixed that problem. I went with the NISMO Akebono pads sold from Concept Z Performance. The do lightly ust the rims with a light grey dust, but its not an issue. I wash that sucker each Saturday.
