Why so many lowering suspensions for sale?

In the classifieds there always a lot of coil overs, lowering springs, camber kits, etc. for sale. Is this because people convert back to stock before selling their car or they don't like a lowered car or something else? Thought I'd ask before lowering my car.

People leasing the car returning it to stock before lease termination.
People upgrading from lowering springs to coilovers.
People returning to the car stock to sell the parts and the car separately.
People changing or upgrading from one coilover setup to another for various reasons.

I'd think these are the primary reasons, in that order.

I think it also has to do with ride quality. You lose the psuedo luxury car feel with lowering springs.

On a side note did you notice how many CAI are for sale at any given time? Makes me wonder about modding this car at all...

I also wonder how a lowered car affects the resale value. I think a lot of buyers value an unaltered car.

Lowering the car modestly doesn't impact ride quality all that much. Resale value isn't really an issue either - put the car back to stock before selling it. People buy and sell parts all the time, it doesn't mean the car doesn't respond well to mods, there is a disconnect in that logic. I've seen people go through multiple intakes before settling on one, exhausts, lowering setups, etc. before finding what they were actually looking for. Even with this being said, most people would take the worst aftermarket option over the stock setup.

It comes down to the fact that there are two types of G owners: modders and stock guys. Figure out which category you fit in and roll with it; you can't go wrong either way, but you definitely can by pretending to fit in one you don't belong. I tried to convince myself I was a stock guy with this car... that didn't last long and I'm glad it worked out that way.

How about the roads here in Sacramento, and California are in such bad shape that it just gets uncomfortable to ride in a slightly stiffer car for any long period of time. My wife just got back from France and says the roads there are a dream compared to any she's been on in California. There was a time when California lead the world in it's freeway and urban roads smoothness. Not anymore by a long shot.

I had enough of rough riding, underbody, bumper scraping, loud intake & loud exhaust.

From: Framingham Ma,
Like said before a lot of us lease the car, and mod it with bolt ons, Whens it time to give it back we sell the mods. Unless they stay with infiniti and just move the parts over. I did that , Lease to own and swapped a lot of stuff over, Wish I kept my Takedas also :?

I fall under the "I can't drive my car that much anymore due to it not accommodating child seats very well and need to sell it to get something more practical" category. I'll be parting out my car soon, which will include a set of coilovers. So Black Betty's category #3 essentially.

My son's car seat works perfectly fine in the back seat! I'll just buy something else that's more practical when the time comes!

Mine is still rear facing until she gets older. Plus, we're trying to have a 2nd. One rear facing and one front facing still wouldn't work since I have to get into the back seat to get to the rear facing. Sigh...I need 2 more doors.
