I've seen it up close and personal and it's magnificent.

You can really see the texture in the lettering that I'm talking better about in this photo.
Are you talking like... A black brushed aluminum?

What's your process for this? Powder coat?

JPS does custom paint work, his engine covers are legendary. I don't think he does any powdercoating but not 100% on that. Not sure how often he's around here these days.

Thanks for the response... it is gorgeous craftsmanship. Wish there was a "core exchange" program with him

Just got done talking to my local dealer... ... $1,400 painted and installed. I don't know what to think. I figured it'd be in the high hundreds, never suspected $1,400.

It wouldn't break me, but I am a little trigger shy after having gotten the extended warranty, aero kit, IPL wheels, accent lighting, antenna spoiler, and sport muffler within the the past 3 weeks (g37s vert)

I figured this was the last aesthetic mod before to start focusing on performance come summer.

Would you (or anyone) consider $1,400 for painted and installed calipers fair?

Thanks!

If that includes the actual calipers it would be fair, if that just for paint & install it's about $1k too much.

Yes, they were saying taking mine off, painting it, then putting it back on... didn't pass the smell test... ... ... BUT I was trying to give them the benefit of doubt. I'm too nice, I suppose.

Now to go back to the table with loaded questions AFTER clarifying there was no communication error, and in fact they were quoting for painting and reinstalling my existing calipers.

Why do they make it so difficult? (rhetorical... kinda)

Okay, so their justification for $1,400: they're taking the calipers completely off, degrease, and I'm specifying metallic paint and pearl white decal lettering ("INFINITI"), and of course the labor to reinstall.

Is this person just spewing off a list of basic stuff that's included in your ~$400 assessment, or is there more going on here with the additional info provided?

Thanks.

Try this link, gets great reviews and has plenty of examples of his work, charges $400 + shipping. FWIW removing and installing calipers is a simple DIY job.
