Akebono piston diameters?

Couldn't find this info anywhere (or just didn't know where to look). Wanting to know the piston diameters for the 4 pot front and the 2 pot rear, thanks for any help.

This may be a stupid answer, but I hope a general answer helps. I was in there last time I replaced my brake pads and saw the pistons. Each of them looked to be around an inch, maybe 1.25" in diameter. Two on each side of the rotor in the front, one on each side of the rotor on the back.

44 mm and 41 mm pistons in front. I can't remember which of these two sizes the rears use, but all 4 rear pistons are the same size.

Brad doesn't have Akebonos, but I *suspect* that's about to change.

If that's the case, I see your $35 kit for rebuilding the front pistons, and I go all in and raise you a $42 kit to rebuild all 4 calipers! Ha!

But these kits don't include the pistons themselves, so maybe that's what he really needs (since that is what he asked about) and we're both pissing up a rope.

Clear this up Brad!

I'm needing the F&R diameters so I can get a BBK together w/ similar brake biasing/total piston area. It's going to be a Wilwood 6pot/4pot but exact calipers are still yet to be determined. I've got an experienced machinist that's assembled several custom Wilwood setups so stay tuned

Then you've got what you need. I believe that the rear calipers use the larger 44 mm pistons, though not 100% sure.

Guess I'd better get some confirmation as that changes everything
W 44mm Front the piston area would be around 4.7"
41 mm rear would have an area around 2.05"

If the diameters are reversed it would be
41 F about 4.10"
44 R about 2.35"
That sounds a bit more in line w/ the other BBK ranges~
4.04" F
1.58" R
That's the Wilwood BBK for a G37 on their site

If any one knows for sure which one has the 44 and which has the 41mm that would be awesome.
Thanks again.

From the Centric parts list on Rockauto it appears the front uses a two different piston sizes (the 41 & 44mm) and the rear uses the 41mm.
I think I'm reading this right
CENTRIC Part # 14641015 Steel/Aluminum
Front; IPL Model; Sport; [41mm]; 355mm Front & 350mm Rear Disc; Sport Brake Pkg
Rear; IPL Model; Sport; 355mm Front & 350mm Rear Disc; Sport Brake Pkg
$8.99
CENTRIC Part # 14644021 Steel/Aluminum
Front; IPL Model; Sport; [44mm]; 355mm Front & 350mm Rear Disc; Sport Brake Pkg

So front piston area is 4.4 and rear is 2.04 Yipee!

Yes, that's what I was saying in the earlier post. The front calipers each have 2 44mm pistons and 2 that are 41mm. I thought the rears were 44 but they are the 41mm.
