Eibachs are the most common, mid drop spring, right between mild and deep drop springs
Tein H Techs~mild drop
Tanabe~Mild drop
Tein S Techs~Deep drop
Swift~mild drop
H&R~Deep Drop
B&G~Deep drop
All lowering springs will result in a firmer ride than stock, the Swift followed by Tanabe then H Techs for ride comfort w/ the deep drop springs the roughest/firmest of the group. Eibachs seem to be the best compromise for a semi aggressive drop while still retaining a fairly comfortable ride

They're common w/ BMW, Audi, etc. I had some B&G S2s on my G prior to my coilovers and it was similar to an H&R drop.
Here's some pics of my B&Gs, this was a couple years ago so excuse some of my outdated mods, lol

I have Eibachs, they look amazing. I could not be happier with the drop. It has a good aggressive look to it.

If I were to recommend a deep drop I'd just go w/ coilovers. The deep drop springs leave such little spring/shock travel that you're hitting bump stops often and the ride is very harsh. With adjustable coilovers you can get better suspension travel and adjust the ride so it's not cracking your jaw on bumps.
You'll be paying at least $550-600 more (for the low end coilovers) but when you factor in $500 for the camber/toe kits, and another few hundred for install and alignment (unless you DIY the install, which I recommend) the extra cash isn't that much in the scheme of things.

If I were to go w/ Springs I'd go w/ Eibach or Swift and leave the lower stuff to coils.

The Eibach drop looks perfect 11G37S; looks very BMW/AUDI as they tend to standardize on more aggressive stances from the factory.

Was it easy to meet alignment specs with the Eibachs?

Yes, I have the Eibach Pro competition kit on my G sedan, but before I bought them I read as much as I could on this forum or the reviews for them. I've found almost everybody who has them are happy with the overall results. They are well worth the money.

I've been using Eibach for many years on several different cars. It all depends on what you're looking for in a spring, tho. I like a decent drop, not slammed, and I value a comfortable ride with an improvement in handling. Eibach has always provided this for me at a reasonable price, so I've yet to find a reason to try another brand.
