Which companys make the stiffest coilovers?

Hey Guys/Girls

I was wondering which coilover company has the stiffest spring rate coilovers made for our cars? Which company allows you to swap out for a stiffer spring rates?

Thanks everyone

If you want the stiffest option, replace your coils with a steel member

K thx guys! Now it comes down to BC or Stance? What have your experiences been with BC? I've heard a lot of complaints about them getting noisy/clunky?

Opt for a coilover that allows you to swap in springs as stiff as you like. Many of them do that. However if they don't also valve the units for the stiffness of the spring you're using, you've just wasted your money on uncomfortable garbage.

Op I have Stance SS's and it has 1-15 dampening settings... my rears are set at 12 and front 10.. more in the rear due to fuel and kids... weighting it down.. works great Sport feeling and dropped on the Ground... I'm at 25 1/2 now all corners... no issues... note These are true Coil overs not like the old GR series ... handles great feel the road!

Good luck!

If I'm not mistaken I believe the Stance are equipped w/ Swift springs.

why do you want the stiffest? being stiffer means nothing more than a harsher ride...are you going to race the car on the track? do you want singles? doubles? triples? monotube? external reservoir? what's your price range? do you need to stay with a certain type of shock due to race series regulations?

keep in mind that each shock has specific dampening that allow a certain range of spring rates to work with them, but stiffer doesn't always mean better handling. its going to be a combination of the shock and tire (as well as suspension settings obviously), meaning that a certain tire may not like having such a stiff spring or vice versa.

also, going above 900# springs usually means you need an aftermarket seat as your seats have springs in them and can make you bounce off of your seat.

Thanks guys for the info, currently have jic flt tars and they are not stiff enough for my liking/wheel tire combo.I'm not tracking the car so it would mainly be for the look. I did notice that stance has oem style and true coil overs for our cars. What would be the main benefits of the true style? What happens with the spring bucket if you go with a true setup? Do you just leave it in place?

Spring bucket is still your lower control arm and your toe adjustment. Not sure of the advantages but have heard they're easier to fine tune since they're an integrated unit rather than two separate components. Have also heard it puts more stress in a concentrated area not originally designed for it. So I guess you've got to weigh the pros & cons

Thanks blnewt for the reply, my mechanic said the exact thing... Stated that the true set up does put stress on areas not meant for the added stress. Might be ok for the short term however might be problemsom in the long run. Hmmm

As for Added Stress as Blnewt said yet your Mechanic I'd say for those who track...but being a DD for myself after installing them and just adding a Toe bolt waited a month to align... no issues at all going 3 mo or so with the Stance ...

The Spring bucket can stay in place... or you can by the Bars that take its place... I hear the Buckets can be damaged with the springs gone not providing strength in that area which I'm considering to change myself...
But Stance SS's are a true Coilover so I'm looking at changing the buckets out in the near future...
