Well bad news. Got the swift springs and Koni fronts installed and the top of the wheel arch is 29.5" Ahhhhh! Can you think of anything that I am doing wrong in the install? the car drives fine. except that the front is now 1.8 inches higher than the rear.

I was hoping for 27" wheel arch height.

Nice. Let us know if the Koni actually raise the height of your car.
So Antirice's suspicions were correct.

I am thinking about swapping the Koni's back out for the Infiniti dampers, but I really wanted adjustable dampers. Feeling regretful and stupid that I didn't buy the BC coil-over's now.

Wow, that sucks. I was really hoping that the height would not be effected. Thanks for doing this, maybe try the stock sport dampers maybe they are stiffer than the journey stockers.

I think I know what happened. I installed the bottom spring seat upside down. I have been mulling this problem for a couple of days as I finished the install on Saturday nite. Monday morning around 9AM it came to me. The bottom seat can be installed in the up or down position. I have it reversed. When I get back to my garage I will redo the install, take pictures document the process and the results. But I expect that flipping over the seat will correct the problem.

Sorry to hear of your trouble Scott, not familiar w/ the seat on those Konis as the OEM is fixed. Sure hope it helps, if not you sure as hell won't have to worry about scraping on anything, probably won't even need a jack to change your oil

Thanks for update. That first picture was brutal to see. Looking forward to the result after the re-install.

Actually I got a good laugh out of it

Yeah, I am going to redo the install tonight and will post pics of struts and final result.

Good thing I have a 17 y/o son to help me!

The great thing about DIY, is that by the third time I redo the work, I have learned everything I need to know to do it right the first time!

do you have a list of the torque values for the bolts, having it in one place would be nice.

This is the final, correct result. Yea! Finally got it right. For a 26 7/8" wheel arch height.

<a href="http://s215.photobucket.com/user/ssscottg/media/20130716_203732_zpsee5c309f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc93/ssscottg/20130716_203732_zpsee5c309f.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20130716_203732_zpsee5c309f.jpg"/></a>

This is the incorrect way to assemble the coilovers.

Yes I do have a list of torque values

The bottom of the shock is 120 f/lbs I think it's called the end link.

the top of the shock is 3 x 28 f/lbs (where it goes through to the engine compartment)

These are the key values from the 2012 G37 service manual.

Yep, that bottom one is the fun one, pretty easy w/ a breaker bar and PB blast though. Great to hear you got it figured out Scott, look forward to pics of the whole car and also how you're liking the ride. Looks like you'll need that jack for your oil changes now

So I guess the verdict is Koni Yellows have no effect on the ride height.

Yes that is the verdict. Spring length, rate and preload controls the ride height.

I will be installing the rears tonight and will report back. I hope the first time will be the charm...
