I don't see any way that a lowering spring would have caused that breakage.

They said that the spring was the cause and that since the springs are not OEM, no warranty.. Spoke with Service Mgr and he asked if I ever read my warranty booklet and I'm sol. Rude and completely dismissive.

What occurred to cause that? Can't imagine it just broke on a normal drive. Did you really slam a pothole or hit something in the road to weaken it? That's some scary stuff there, I'm assuming no one was affected by this (sure hope not).

Check your gas cap.

jk, its an easy fix and shouldnt take longer than a couple minutes to do as long as nothing else is broken or bent.

I was coming to a stoplight. Just got off of the highway off ramp about 1/2 mile back. I think the most I was going down the street was maybe 30mph and I was slowing down to the red light. I just don't see how it just broke like that (thank god it didn't on the highway, I had my Boxer in the backseat of my coupe), and how they can say that the Eibach spring caused it.

Glad you were in a safe spot when that happened and no injuries occurred, you don't recall any severe compression/impact to that area anytime prior?
Seems very unlikely it would just snap in that area without any motivation.
And if nothing like that may have happened are you the original owner?

No hard impacts. Smoothly paved roads, and highway was the same way. Slowing down for light, then BANG, car dropped. 2nd owner, car was CPO from Infiniti.

Possibly a defective casting, but since you're not the original owner it's possible the previous owner had a nasty impact that may have weakened it, although aluminum tends to snap rather than weaken.

As far as the springs having nothing to do w/ the breakage, I agree although having 1.5" less to hit the bump stops and 1.5" less suspension travel could cause more stress under a severe impact. So I guess in a rare scenario they could be partly to blame. Still hard to believe it just snapped like that going down the road without any previous incident.

Or maybe it's more common than I think

Replaced the part last night, and looking at it, the Lower failed. NO fuggin way it was due to a mild drop on only a set of springs.. Also there weren't any impact markings (as in curbing or running over something) on the lower..

-_- <~~~ not sure how I feel about further modding. Anyone else hear if this is common to fail?

For the lower arm to break like that is extremely uncommon without an impact or dome sort if damage to the part. Certainly not something that's caused by lowering the car. I wouldn't be gun shy. Lowering your car with springs didn't cause that.

Thank you sir. Shouldnt Infiniti have to prove the spring caused the failure?

Probably not. The suspension parts were altered and not OEM so its pretty easy for them to make the argument that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure. It didn't. But it's easy to say that's the issue and because you alterd it. That's a part of modding.

OP:

If you damaged the lower arm to that extent, your knuckle and camber arm are damaged also.
