Xcoupe Owners.. Info on your Lowering Springs

I've been gathering tons of info on lowering springs for the X Coupe, lots of mixed reviews, I would like to get a general idea of which one would work best for me before I pull the trigger.

If you could just answer the following:

1) What springs do you have?
2) Overal drop front/back
3) Camber kit? (Y/N)
4) Curent shocks? Stock or aftermarket?
5) Rims. Stock or aftermarket?
6) Ride quality vs stock. 1-10 higher the better
7) Quick pros and cons

And finally a pic would be nice.

Hopefully I get enough posts to weigh my options and make a pick.

I had Eibach Pro Kits on my X coupe previously. I dont know the drop in inches but anything is better than stock. They really didnt need a camber kit. Used stock shocks. I have M45s wheels. Ride quality was pretty much the same IMO. Only con was that they werent low enough for me. I took them off after 2 months and got coilovers.

This was it back then...

1) What springs do you have? Eibach PK
2) Overal drop front/back: 1.9" FRONT / 1.6" REAR
3) Camber kit? (Y/N) : N
4) Curent shocks? Stock or aftermarket? Stock
5) Rims. Stock or aftermarket? 2009 Stock Rims
6) Ride quality vs stock. 1-10 higher the better: 6
7) Quick pros and cons : Gives a nice drop, but I would like it to be a little more lower. Almost been a year, ride quality is pretty shtty now if you ask me LOL

Just go coilovers! Getting BC Racing soon.

Hope this helps

Thanks for starting this thread Abramite - I'm in the same boat as yourself, but I think I'm leaning to the eibachs as well, and then coilovers down the road. I can't justify spending $2000+ on new summer tires and rims AND the higher cost of coilovers at the same time haha.

6) Ride quality vs stock. 1-10 higher the better: 5-7
7) Quick pros and cons : Drop is pretty good, gets rid of the "4x4" look and all that wheel gap. Not too low, where you can get away without a camber kit. Like stated above though, I would just save up for some coilovers. I will probably be upgrading soon.

No prob, I would just like a thread that eliminates hours of searching.

Viventi, Lt8che both of you don't have the chamber kits and your alignment is ok?

Maybe someone with H&R or Swift will chime in.

Thanks for the info guys!

Eibach pro kit on awd 09 coupe.

Don't need camber kits. Perfect drop for Chicago roads.

Yeah, the alignment is a little negative camber on the rears, but fits well nothing drastic.

No one with swift springs chimed in, that's a bit disappointing

So based on responses here, can one assume that you will give up ride quality when lowering? I want to tighten up the gap on my 37xs coupe, but not at the expense of ride quality.

Do coilovers, set to any height, provide a ride that is equal to or better than stock?

With coilovers you have an adjustment range anywhere from .1 inches to 4 inches. Usually the shocks are adjustable so you dial it in close to stock.
