Brakes frozen

I've noticed a few times now after driving in the snow and then parking my car overnight when I first try to drive the car it does not want to move. I have to give it some gas slowly before the car wants to move. It feels like the brakes are frozen to the rotors because after applying enough gas it sounds like they are breaking loose (loud clunk).

Anyone else run into this problem?

Probably tires frozen to the ground. Don't forget to disengage the parking brake

Suppose it could be tires getting frozen to the ground as well. I have been assuming brakes though as the rims tend to get snow and ice built-up in them fairly easy which I think may be contributing to the problem.

I use to have this happen in past cars when I lived in NJ.

Try NOT setting the parking brake - see if it still happens.

Let us know - thanks!
