Rotors warped - Need Advice!

Rotors warped - Need Advice!
So I noticed some vibration when I brake and the harder I brake the more intense the vibration. So I brought my 09 G37S into the dealer since its still under warranty. They essentially told me my rotors were warped and that it wasnt under warranty (that it was due to driver wear or something like that). They also said ceramic rotors cant be resurfaces and that Ill need to buy new ones.
My question is, does this sound right/legitimate?
Also, what are my best/cheapest options for replacement rotors/pads? Should I replace them with that the care came with or something else?
Also, how can I prevent this from happening in the future.
Thanks for the help.

You don't have ceramic rotors, they are iron like every other rotor. Ceramic rotors are primarily used in racing and can cost thousands of dollars.
Your rotors are not warped. It is extremely unusual and difficult to actually warp a brake rotor.
Your OEM rotors can be resurfaced as long as there is sufficient thickness.
Most brake wear is not covered under any warranty unless there is a material defect. It's considered normal wear on the car and isn't covered by warranty. Some dealerships under some circumstances may choose to take care of it anyway.
Yo may simply need new brake pads. Take it somewhere else to find out, that dealership gave you some poorly explained or outright untrue information.
I personally like ceramic pads because they tend to give good performance on a daily driver and produce less noise and dust. I personally have Hawk Ceramics but they are a little expensive for a daily driver.

What BB said.
I have an 09 with about 28k miles. While stopping from highway speed, the steering wheel vibrates and recently vdc off light/brake light/ABS light all came on. Dealer said, my pads needs replacing and rotor grind. They also said, the lights were caused by lower brake fluid level as a result of thinner brake pads.
I think I read the vibration is more often than not, cause by brake pad material left on the rotor resulting in an uneven surface and not because your rotors are warped. I THINK to rid the material, you need to grind rotor. So tomato, toemato...probably its easier to tell average consumer rotor is warped lol.
If it was me, I would replace pads with akebono ProActs or what BB suggested Hawk ceramics. Both have good review for daily driving situation. Do a search on brake pads so you can make an educated decision yourself(no offense).
As for where to get it done, I use google map for shops in my area and read the review. I found a chain shop where I change my oil for $10. Thats for labor & tire rotaion and I bring in my own oil. This was not a simple exercise of changing oil. I am no mechanic but I watch how they work around my car and pay attention what people say around the waiting area. This gives me an indication on how the shop is run and comfort level using them for bigger things (we are nearing our warranty period ). So far am happy with their service. Might have them install my akebono BBK for $260 or paid a premium of $360to have racing shop do it. Dont know yet.
Good luck.

Follow BB's advice and then bed the pads to the rotors as recommended by the pad manufacturer. If you bed them in correctly, then there should be an even deposition of the pad material on the rotor and thus no shudder or vibration upon hard application. Good luck with the new setup.

Thanks for the advice fella's. I actually brought it in to another dealership and low and behold they are going to replace them under warranty. So that is awesome, Ill post up if I still need new brake pads.
Thanks

Please make sure you bed your pads properly. There's a few write-ups on here on how to do it.

Do it yourself.....it's fun.
It's just driving a certain speed and braking a certain way a few times, waiting a while, then doing it again.

Well, if you take off your rotors you should change the pads, but yes...if your rotors are resurfaced you should rebed your pads.
Anytime you change pads, replace/resurface rotors you need to rebed your pads.

Rotors don't actually warp, the vibration you're getting is from uneven pad deposits onto the rotor, ways in the future you can prevent this happening is not overheating the pads, different pads have different temperature ranges and if you go over the specific temperature the pad will glaze onto the rotor and cause your vibration. Slotted rotors can help decrease the possibility of glazed rotors but it still possible to occur. If you replace/resurface your rotors you should always re-bed the pads, if you were to keep the same rotors and get new pads, it is still recommended to bed the pads.

Thanks for the replies. To post up, I did bed my pads and can confidently say that the stopping power is much improved prior to me bedding the pads.
Also, since my stock rotors are now re-cut, will I be able to re-cut/surface them again or will I need to buy new rotors? In the case I need new rotors/pads, what is the recommendation if I dont want to pay an arm and a leg, but want good value. It sounds like the hawk ceramics are great pads for the money.
