Good first mod? (For those Hotchkis guys...)

Hello everyone! 2010 G37x sedan here in New Hampshire (snow!). Anways, I've been reading alot about modding, which I have never done any of, and I think that the Hotchkis sway bars set may be the way to go for the very first mod. My car is completely stock, not lowered at all, and want some thoughts from people who have the sway bars installed. Is it worth it for the first mod, WITHOUT getting it lowered on springs or CO's? I probably won't lower it anytime soon. Please let me know!

I did the sways after Eibachs but while the spings look good and do add some stability the sways have a much higher ROI so I wouldn't worry about doing the sways first.

I had never modded a car before the G37 and it's not a good bug to catch. I get my KWv3 coilovers on soon and after that I think I am taking a break until FI.

Sway bars are the best way to go.

Sway bars are a very good first mod. They're not too expensive, but allow more control over the amount of body roll you want in your ride. I'm not lowered either, but as one OP eluded to, modding the G is hard to stop.

Hotchkiss sways was the first mod I did on mine. There was a HUGE difference in handling. IMHO one of the best mods you'll get noticible difference for the dollars spent.

IMHO if your only going to do one mod it should be the sways. The G's are great cars but definitely lacking in the suspension aspect. P.S it was my first mod and made the car complete.

Thumbs up

RTom919,
I have a '12 G37XS, the all wheel drive sedan s models as u may know do not receive the suspension upgrades of non X models. So I have the same suspension as u. The Hotchkis sways are a great first mod, lots of bang for the buck !!! They really transform the handling of the car with a minimum increase in NVH. Money well spent, I love 'em.
Btw I have them set at the softest setting both front and rear only because it is the wife's DD and I am concerned about excessive oversteer in slippery conditions. If it were me just driving the car I would definitely up the rear bar to the middle setting and possibly the front to the second(stiffer) setting for increased turn in and decreased body roll !!!
Hope this helps ???
Good Luck.
Russ

Thanks guys, just to clarify i have a non-s version of the G-37x (smoky quartz ftw) and want to make sure we are on the same page. If so, it looks like I am getting these parts soon! Thanks for all the input

Mattster... G37xS or G37S? Just want to clarify. The AWD suspension isn't upgraded with the Sport Package like the RWD version is. And I've been trying to get plans settled in my head as to whether or not I want to replace the sways on my 6MT.

Whacha got, buddy?

+1. I'm not lowered and the sways make a night and day difference in handling.

I've had these sway bars in my garage for the past month and haven't found the time to install these. I can't wait to feel the difference in handling once they are on either!
