I been looking on the forums and i cant seem to find anything or anybody with tein basic coilovers? It seems that alot of people are choosing KW V1 coilovers. Are the Tein Basic Coilovers not good on the G37? im in the market for coilovers but just doing a drop just enough to cover the gap. nothing too extreme or slammed. Also just a DD to, dont plan on taking the car to the track.

I've read that Tein are very stiff and might not be comfortable as a DD setup. You'll see a lot of guys running KWv3 (as opposed to V1) since the V3 has damping adjustability and the V1 doesn't. You'll also see a Stance, Tanabe, KSport, Megan and BC Racing coilovers. I would say KWv1 and Tanabe will be the most comfortable for DD with height adjustment. Ksport, Megan and BC are the more "budget" coilovers that are cheaper and may not be as comfortable or perform as well as the others.

Do a little research to get some feedback on what brands and their comfort. You'll be able to find much more info that's already out there.

I have tanabe coils...good for a DD, smooth, not as harsh as I thought a coilover system would be. I had same goals as you - lower to reduce the wheel gap, but with added ability to raiser or lower as I want and wanted something more stiff than OEM without sacrificing ride comfort.

I have the Tein Flex for my DD and i love them... i have no regrets... not a track car either, but im also cornered balanced and on specs as well... the 8th setting feels like and aggressive stock suspension FYI... ive tried all setting for front and rear and im currently sitting on the 14th front and 12th rear out of 16 setting/clicks... but then again, im riding on fat tires... 245/40 and 285/35...

I'm on Tein SSP and they feel really nice when set on the softer setting (13/15) for DD. When I feel like hitting my favorite twisty road (2/3) does the trick Also a quality set of coils that are reasonably priced. Love the EDFC option too allowing to adjust damping on the fly :JAMMIN:

I second the Stance coils. I have them pretty low and not too stiff (7/10) but they run so smooth, better DD than the stock suspension.

well i plan on putting between a 1k and 1500 budget for coilovers. I dont really need track like settings. I just want a comfortable reliable ride, factory like but better. It will be my first time getting coilover so i am pretty newb on how settings would be like.

I had them on my IPL, and man I loved the ride! They are worth every penny. I used to have the Megans, they were night and day difference!!! KW are way too stiff IMO for DD

Which set are you referring to? You had Tein Basic's on your IPL? And then you switched over to Megans which were better?

so it looks like either KW V1 or Tein SS-P. Cant believe the KWV1 is almost same price as Tein SS-P

Let me know what you end up with. I am going through the same decision process. Upgraded to 20 inch wheels and want to basically lower the front so the gap matches the back, and gain a little performance / tightness. But it is my daily driver and I do NOT want a bumpy ride, especially considering Atlanta is nothing but potholes. Have been leaning toward Tein.

i have tein basic for my maxima, they are great for drop. but really stiff, i cant complain cuz i wanted to drop my car and they are the best for just basic coilovers.
