It's too bad there's no such thing as a DBA 2-piece rear rotor...

Ok guys. Here is the deal. If we get 30+ rotor, we can get it for 272 each. I already have two people interesting buying a pair. That's 4 rotors. We need 26 more rotors to get it for $272 each. Anyone interested? Im going make a GB thread.

2 piece FRONT rotors: $272 each

Do you have the weight of each rotor?

Are 2 piece REAR rotors available too? Price?

Do these rotors fit all G37's as long as they have OEM big sport brakes right?

I have a 2008 G37S coupe RWD.

Your weight savings with DBA 2 piece is not significant:

If youre going to drop 600 on front 2 piece rotors, you might as well spend more and get the most out of it. You save about 3.75lbs per rotor with DBA5000. With racingbrake, you lose 8lbs per rotor.

Thanks Modme

How about the CZP 2 piece rotors? They look nearly identical to the DBA 2 piece..
I'm aiming for lightweight but RacingBrakes 2 piece are expensive.

CZP G37 2 Piece Rotor Set - Sport Model - Akebono, Cross-Drilled/Slotted - 2pc Front - performance parts

"It's been a long road, but they are finally here. Introducing the New CZP 2-Piece Rotors for the 370Z and G37 Sport Models. These also fit 350Z and G35 Running w/ the Front Akebono 14" Big Brake Kits.
The CZP 2pc Rotor are 23lbs compared to the 30lb Stock OEM Rotors. That's a weight savings of 14lbs on both rotors. CZP 2pc Rotors also include Thermal Stability Profiling (TSP) for improved heat handling, Thermo-Graphic paint markings for effective heat monitoring and Kangaroo Paw ventilation which runs cooler, stronger and outperforms traditional straight vane disc rotors by up to 20%. Our Hats are Aerospace Grade, and use a 6061 Aluminum to allow the disc to expand evenly. This keeps down the heat, and provides additional protection for wheel bearings.

Stock OEM Front Rotor Weight: 30lbs CZP 2-Piece Rotor Weight: : 23lbs"

Hm, I wonder why CZP rotors are lighter, if DBA makes i for them? Less durable?

I personally would prefer rotors with a superior ability to deal with heat and I'm willing to deal with the extra weight that may be required for this. Their vane design is pretty unique and they are nice rotors, but not the lightest by any means. If you save 2-3 lbs per rotor by replacing the iron hat with aluminum than you are reducing your braking capacity as you now have a smaller heat sink.

Lighter rotors is not the way to braking performance.

Watch this video below. DBA rotors 10 times brake test. 10 meter shorter comparing to EVO stock brembo rotors

The hats hardly ever get that hot compared to the discs themselves, and they are typically isolated from all that heat due to the hats design.

Lighter rotors do affect braking performance, among other things. RB's also have a very unique vane/open slot design that works very well in dissipating all that excess heat at the limits. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not discounting that DBA probably works just as well.

As for the comparison in that video, I'm a little wary of it since it shows a full brake swap (lines, pads, rotors, fluid). We can achieve the same thing by doing the same to our OEM set-ups sans rotors.

Back on topic, any chance they can do a GB on rear 2pc as well? Given their price for the front, i'm sure their rears will be much more affordable than the RB rears, and it might help get the order # up.

26 lbs is about 20% lighter than our oem. Or made in china stoptech. This results into 20% better cooling. Equivalent cooling as a brake duct.

Also in for the GB.

Interesting,

Stoptech Blanks AKA Centrics Premium Rotor. 28.6lb

The weight matches my postal scale too, but I couldn't get a clear photograph.

I'm not knocking the DBAs, but the Stoptech blanks were dirt cheap, I track the hell out of the car, and I'm not sure the 2.5lb in weight savings is going to make me anymore competitive.
