So everyone keeps saying get a drop first

Just wondering what are the other benefits to "getting a drop" other than getting rid of that gap between the tire and fender?!

Yes I searched it but the benefits are drowned out by countless posts saying "get a drop, drop first, drop drop drop, etc drop"

Thanks!

If you slam it, then you have more drawbacks than benefits. If you drop it moderately, then you improve overall handling as well as improve aesthetics.

Lots of bumps on my commute. So drop isn't for me? Includes speed bumps.

What BB said. Driving a lowered car does require more awareness of your surroundings but it's not rocket science either. Not saying you have to have a drop but you can definitely go with a moderate drop and still do just fine. As your confidence builds up, you can lower incrementally. That's how I did it.

Uhh of course new parts. How would a shop just lower the car? If you want the versatility of raising and lowering whenever you want, get some coils. If you just want to drop it and forget about it, get springs.

Jesse, look for a slight drop, like eibach or something like that. It'll increase handling/aesthetics and won't be too bad on bumps.

I for one don't think drops look good, makes the car look like the suspension is broken .... to each his own. Car handles fine enough for me as a DD and not a track car.

I'll look into that, it definitely looks better with less gap. A slight drop is probably just what I need. Thanks!

Just did an eibach drop on my car, put 20 mm spacers in the front and 15 mm in the rear... Looks way better, dont feel a difference between stock ride control either... Took me less then an hour to replace all springs.

^^wow that is unbelievably quick. How did you manage to get all four tires off, strut and springs components off and add on new springs in less than an hour? Granted the rears are a piece of cake but the fronts had to have taken you some time to replace...

How do the dropped RWD Gs handle in snow area? My biggest concern is the winter driving since my G is my DD.

My question is, how much worse should I expect for an eibach drop in winter/snow driving.

Wait, what??!! You're probably the first one I've ever heard saying they prefer the stock ride height to a drop.

I can live with the rear wheel gap, but that wheel gap up front is hideous.

So how did you compress the eibach springs because normal spring compressors do not fit on them. Care to explain if you don't mind?
