Brake Line Noise

All,

I just had my non-sport brake pads, rotors, and lines upgraded to F & R 14 Inch Big Brake Kit w/ Stoptech Rotors, Akebono Calipers, as well as Teflon Coated Stainless Steel Brake Lines and ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid.

The work was professionally done. Now, there seems to be a rubbing or pulling noise coming from my drivers side when in a stopped position, turning the wheel left or right. Noise does not continue when actually driving the car.

Do SS lines have a stretching or break in period? Or could something actually be rubbing.

If you're stopped, and holding the brake, and turn your wheel, you're putting a lot of force on your brakes. They are probably sliding across the rotors as you turn back and forth. Put your emergency brake on and turn the wheel left and right. Do you still hear it, or is it only when you've got your foot on the brake?

If I'm in Park with foot off brake pedal, I do not hear the noise when turnning the wheel. Also do not hear the noise if in Park with the emergency brake engaged.

Only hear the noise when pressing the brake pedal and turnning the wheel left or right.

Yea, it's your new rotors and pads then. Did you properly bed them in? What kind of pads are they? If they're metalic, or semi-metalic you'll have noise forever. Any way you look at it, metal scraping on metal is going to be noisy.

Try bedding them in again. Ceramics should be almost silent. If you can hear them in the car, something isn't right.
