Question Spacers/ Hub Centric Rings

I know this might be a nub question, but what's the difference between the two of them or are they the same?

I also had a question about the spacers I am using which I shouldn't have to be using because I bought the correct offset for the wheel and they don't clear over my BBK.

Anyways, I have 15mm spacers in the front which makes my Volk GT-30 Offset +20 since the original offset was +35.

I know these spacers are causing my wheels to vibrate which is really annoying. So I wanted to know if the spacer isn't securely on th hub of the rotor? Because I had a friend use a torque gun to secure it I believe around 120lb/ft or something around there.

Tomorrow I am going to borrow a torque wrench for the lug nuts to torque them better. I was told to torque them around the same as the spacer at 120lb/ft.

Could you guys please help and tell me what I should properly do?

Spacers: Make your vehicles stance more aggressive. Some spacers, such as Ichiba spacers, come with Hub Rings.

Hub Rings: For wheels that are not hub-centric. If your steering wheels shakes even after alignment and balancing, could be due to not having hub-centric wheels. Solution? Hub rings. (not to be confused with hub rings on spacers).

As for what you should do, check to see if your spacers came with hub rings. Project Kics spacers (which I have), do not come w/ spacers. You would have to order them separately. Ichiba wheel spacers (the ones I previously had), came with hub rings. If you dont have the rings, you can purchase them for your spacers. Be sure to order them the same brand as the spacers. Also, be sure to securely tighten your lug nuts in star pattern. Oh yeah, dont forget to balance your wheels and tires too.

damn really 120ft/lbs? a little too much there, torque your spacers and your lugs to 80-85ft/lbs

Yea, I thought it was a lot too, I'll try 80 first and see how that goes I guess.

As for the above post, my wheels were balanced properly (I believe so, I might take it to a shop Thursday if this torque wrench I use tomorrow does not work.)

I THINK they are Ichiba spacers, I'm not 100% sure though because the seller won't respond to my PM's. You don't think I have to re-torque the spacers do you?

What is the hub size on the GT30's?

The spacers are hubcentric and wheel centric. But it maintains the stock bore of 66.2. If the wheels have a different bore, you will have to put a hub ring on top of the spacer hub to balance the wheel.

Stock hub size: 66.2
You add the spacer to it. The spacer has a 66.2 bore that sits on the stock hub. Then on the wheel side, the spacer also has a 66.2 hub. This is what makes it hubcentric and wheel centric.

However, the spacer is maintaining the stock 66.2 hub size. If your wheels have a 66.2 bore, then it's fine. But if the bore size is different, then you need to get a hub ring to enlarge the hub on the spacer.

Find out the bore size of the wheels. Measure the circular hole from the inside.

Ok thanks for the help.

Weiboi.... Beerme apparently says these wheels fit "fine" over his BBK, but I'm having difficulty. I have a non-sport coupe and installed the BBK from a friend and they don't clear the caliper. I just PM'ed Beerme to see if he would meet up so I can see if they actually clear his caliper.
