Questions regarding suspension installation

So i've placed an order for the Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC coilovers and SPC front and rear cambers. I am planning on installing this myself in my garage. I have the following questions:
  1. If you've installed coilvers on the g37 coupe before, how hard is it, and what do i need to know before hand?
  2. I have jack stands,2 1/2 ton jack lift, and man-made 8in ramps, sockets and etc, but i dont have a torque gun. Are there anything else that i need?
  3. Can i use the BC coilovers installation instruction to do it? http://www.bcracing-na.com/G37install.htm and DIY: Coilover Install - G35Driver
  4. Also, are there any tips on installing the cambers @ the same time with the coils?

Thanks.

It's not that hard. You can install it all at once. Download the FSM and have it on hand. An impact gun helps tremendously. Have penetrating lube, a long breaker bar, and a spring compressor at your disposal. You need a Dremel and high speed cutting bit for the rear camber install. Torque everything correctly and don't miss anything.

Torque the bolts to the factory specified values. Do your final bolt tightening with the suspension loaded. Otherwise, the suspension components will carry a preload, not all the car's weight will be sitting on the coilovers.

Obviously you can't torque the suspension bolts with the wheels on. I used the factory jack to jack up the knuckles so that the suspension is compressed and holding up the car's weight. Then tighten all your bolts.

Im going to go buy an impact gun to make it simple. Can i substitute the spring compressor by using the jack stand to jack up the knuckles instead? What are the specific values for torquing those bolts? i just downloaded the FSM, what am i using it for?

The suspension sections of the FSM have an exploded view of the components and the torque spec of every bolt and nut.

I've seen a few people post that they believe that they can be done using just the jack and not a compressor, but I don't recall anyone ever doing it. I wouldn't try it. I don't know that it can be done, but I also can't say for a certainty that it can't. But if you do, be sure to take and post photos of his you do it.

Hum, since y'all have more experience with coilovers installation, I'll take your words and buy the compressor. Is the compressor on needed to take out and put in the rear springs or is it for the front also?

It is onLy for the fronts because the spring and shock are one piece and the spring is loaded. You don't have to buy one. Auto zone rents it out for free.

Wait, does bc coil over come with the front spring perch? If it does, then you don't need a spring compressor. You only need it to remove the oem perch and reuse it.

No, Tanabe requires that you reuse the OEM upper spring seat. You'll need to rent/borrow a spring compressor. Be careful using that thing.

Correct. There's not much pressure on the rears at all. And the shocks and springs are separate. You can compress the rear springs using the jack under the spring bucket.

Why do I think it's the other way around? ( uses rear stock spring) correct?

I don't know. I have the Tanabe and have installed 2 sets besides mine. They do not come with a front upper spring perch, you must use the OEM upper perch and rubber. Trust me on that. Maybe you're thinking of some other brand that does come with it?
