wait i thought it was about the tire height being close in diameter not the width? cause that wouldnt make sense to throw off the awd system with different widths... how could the system know the width has changed? i think 245/35 front and 275/30 rear will be perfect. i just got the bc coilover and kinetix delivery from ups and wow they are some quality pieces i must say.
The "30" in the above tire sizes is the tire width/height ratio. Meaning the sidewall height is 30% of the width. So, when the width goes up, so does the sidewall height.
Stock 225/50/18= 84.4in circumference
245/35/20= 84in
275/30/20=83.2in
285/30/20=84in
As you can see, the 245/285 have the exact same circumference, and are really close to the stock overall size.

This is a 285 tire on a 10" wide wheel:
Offset is 48, camber arms installed. This will take the edge of a 10" wheel out to the fender with no rubbing, even with camber in spec.
Note - Disregard the front wheel .. that one is stock and before upper control arms were added.

my cv1's are 20x10.5 so im kinda looking for the slightest stretch in tire but not a whole lot!! thats why i was opting for the 275 tire instead of the 285....... but i see what your saying about the ratio comparison..... well now im extremely confused! i gotta order my tires today and im not sure what will look right. plus i dont want my vdc and awd going nuts on me

The 0.5" wider wheel you want will poke out 0.25" more than the picture I posted above (assuming same offset). If the offset is different, you have to visualize that change as well.

When you go from a 275/30 to a 285/30 it changes the width by 10mm, but also changes the sidewall height by about 3mm.
The "30" in the above tire sizes is the tire width/height ratio. Meaning the sidewall height is 30% of the width. So, when the width goes up, so does the sidewall height.
