Evilpanda- do you have any issues with excessive bounce on big dips with your Eibach springs. I agree that a 0.5 in drop on an x is trivial but I don't want a bouncey ride with Eibach springs. If rwd S springs from a sedan would lower the X sedan like an inch, then that would be perfect.

ahh, good point, but maybe it will give us a decent idea of what to expect with all 4 in. I'll try to give it a shot to at least see if it is worth it. If I get a .75 lowering in the rear, then i know it should be a little less. If i get almost no lowering, i'll know to just not install the fronts as it won't be worth it.

Yes, they are from a rwd sport sedan and I have an awd sport sedan.

g37 coupe or g37 sedan stock springs will be your best bet for that .5 drop and oem quality.
People been running g37 coupe springs even on 1st gen X sedans.

Rest will be much lower and will effect your ride. Such as bouncing too much, or being a little stiff.

G37 coupe springs have been tried on a second gen G35x sedan. The drop is uneven with the droopy butt effect.

G37 coupe springs up front and keep the stock rear springs but shave the rear sping upper cone seats 1/2in... is my goal this Spring for my X.

I don't think that approach will help handling. More cosmetic IMO. I prefer to use a matched set of springs front and rear to maintain handling balance. Stiffer and lower springs up front will only contribute to understeer.

Why not try out impul springs. They lower the car and retain stock ride.

thats just how the car is I guess, because even tanabe NF on 2nd gen sedan, rear sat so low, and front sat so high that even when we swapped the rears back to stock with Tanabes upfront, it was almost even drop.

ok boys+girls-here is the info you've all been waiting for! i have an 09x sedan with 34kmi and just did the awd-rwd spring swap.springs are from an 07 g35s sedan with 62kmi.

awd springs- Lf-28 1/4 Lr-28 Rf-28 1/8 Rr-28 1/8
rwd s springs- Lf-28 1/4 Lr-27 3/8 Rf-28 1/8 Rr-27 1/2

as you can see the rear dropped 5/8" but the front stayed the same.springs are all installed correctly.rear s springs are 1"shorter and fronts are 3/4"shorter than awd.you can tell s spring rates are a bit higher, more so on the fronts-maybe thats why front didn't drop? the ride has improved nicely-firmer,less roll thru corners(also have rwd rear oem sway)+not too harsh for me.guess it rides like a sport sedan-duh.am happy with the improvement just wish the front went down a bit-don't think it will settle due to the age of the springs.car still looks raked to front-its not like the rear sags but gaps are uneven-tight 4 fingers in front,tight 3 in rear-still have that suv front gap-dang! if s spring rates were known i would consider getting bc coils with same rate and drop car to about 27 1/4 all around.will drive it like this for now and hope front settles a bit-that would make me a happy man! if i decide i can't live with front gap then coilovers here i come! overall it was worth the effort as i like the firmer ride.thats all folks!
