Corner balancing is done by placing a scale under each of your four tires. The ride height is then adjusted such that you achieve the desired weight distribution. You could achieve 50/50 weight distribution which means the weight on all four wheels will be identical. If you have a 4000 lb car, that means 1000 lb will show up on the scale at each wheel. You can customize the corner weights any way you like depending on drive train layout, stock weight distribution, and how you want the car to perform on the track. If your alignment guy really knows what he's doing, he will have you sit in the car with a full tank of gas during the corner balance and alignment. Obviously, your body weight is going to affect the alignment/balance of the car.

The downside is that the ride heights on all four corners is going to be different so if you are going for show car looks or planning to go hellaflush, corner balancing probably isn't for you.

^^Correct except they used a heavy bag as a sub for me in the driver seat and only did a half a tank of gas since that is the average weight you will be driving with and especially if you are tracking will probably not be on full.

For certain tracks with high speed sweepers, you are going to hit fuel cut if you aren't near 3/4 to full

ya need more threads like this around here. the problem ive reached is that my stock shocks are not strong enough for the 1" drop or so with my eibach pro springs. 1 of the main benefit of coils over springs is that the shocks are matched to the springs. adjustability is another benefit so that you can change settings for the street vs track. being able to adjust your dampening allows you to change the way your car handles by adding/removing understeer/oversteer. some coils do compression/rebound together, some are separate. 90% of people really just want the height adjustability of coils though. good coils are center threaded so lowering your car does not affect the spring rate and maintains a comfortable ride.
