Squealing from brakes?

I have noticed that I now have this squealing going forward and reverse, when moving my car after it has been parked. It doesn't really seem to be there when car is hot. But definitely there when it is cold. Is this the infamous brake squeal? It seems like it is not continuous, but maybe the parking brake is not releasing all the way kind of sound? Any suggestions, before I head to the dealer? Thanks.

This is a frequently recurring feature of all G coupes.

It is the infamous brake squeal we all hate. I was told it's because of the composite in the stock pads. I'm hoping new rotors and aftermarket break pad will fix this.

Ok. Thanks for the info. This is now doing it when the brakes are warm and driving forward from a stop. Still the same problem?

I still have the original brakes. There is only 15k on the car and I mostly drive highway. I have done a few canyon runs. It doesn't squeal when I brake, but when I begin driving.

i have the same exact problem every morning and when the car has been parked for a while. It only happens in reverse when I slowly tap the brake you can begin to hear it and my car only has 3000 miles on it. When I took the car to get serviced I requested that they upgraded my brake pads with the r- specs. They said the pads were not available for our coupes but it does say it is an option on the site.

This is the infamous brake squeal. I not only get it in reverse, but also driving forward, both cold and hot.

Why do I get the feeling that if SilverBullet was a newbie the Forum Police would be all over him about doing a search?

This has been discussed "hundreds" of times hasn't it?

Cuz the forum police hasn't seen this thread yet?

SilverBullet ... I assume you did the TSB since you are still asking. Did you try doing what I suggested in post 13 of this thread yet?

I did the searching and most threads that come up deal with the sound only in reverse. I am having it when driving forward.

I haven't had time to take it in yet. I will try and go to the dealer next week. Just wondering if there was something that could be done beforehand. I can try the bedding process, but there are very few places to do a few 60-10 stops a few times without drawing attention.
