2009 G37X coupe brake upgrade to factory akenbono's?

Alright, I have an x coupe and as most of you know it has the puny brake system. What I want to know is if anyone here has upgraded their X coupe to a better braking system, akebono or otherwise. If so, did you notice a big difference and where there any issues because of the all wheel drive? And before, I get flamed, I DID do a search and came up dry. Any help is appreciated in making this decision...
Best,
chris

I have the Akenbono kit sitting in my garage right now. I am going to get the new calipers powder coated before I have it installed. I have a G37x sedan but I do not think there is any difference between the sedan and coupe as far as the brakes are concerned.

I also changed my stock 17" wheels with all season tires to 19" with summer tires and I have to say the braking performance is 100% better even with the tiny OEM brakes If you are running OEM all season tires that is something that you might consider as well.

Once I get the akenbono kit installed I will post pictures as well as an update on the brake performance. Let me know if you have any more questions.

plenty of members upgraded to the akebonos and has helped a lot. just make sure you have wheels that will clear the calipers

Good point, that is why I got the 19's so quickly. The 17's on the sedan definitely will not clear the calipers but I have been told that 18's or bigger will be fine.

Don't forget the SS brake lines

I have heard this makes an improvement over stock.

Yeah, since the brakes are already off I would do the SS lines as well. I, too, was looking at having them powder coated before an install, but am hesitant about tearing up a new coupe when no one else has doen it first! I just KNOW there will be something different between the coupe and sedan, I just KNOW it!
I admit, in this instance I wish to be a "follower" instead of a "leader"!
I did have good luck when I opened up my steering column and saw I was pre-wired for paddle shifters though....
Now, if I can just figure out the damn offset of these wheels....
