brake mileage

I have a great relationship with my dealership. Sometimes if you go in and just ask nicely instead of being a jerk and demanding stuff, people will do nice things for you. It's been working for me pretty well so far. I also send them a fair amount of business.
My rotors were warped by a little track time and they may have gotten wet while they were really hot as well. The rotors didn't need to be replaced, just resurfaced and a pad change.
I'd guess maybe in the $300 to $400 range for a full brake job from an Infiniti dealership but I really do't know, just a guess.

I know I can't but can any good mechanic change the brake pads on the Infiniti?
My brother takes his Audi, to a great mechanic, and he has informed me that he can do my brake pads?
Any word on that? Glendale Infiniti wants to charge alot....

33k on my pads on my 08s mainly freeway driving. The pads were like 50% worn which took me by surprise since i figured they would be alot lower. Anyhow i went ahead and changed anyway cause I already had bought the new pads and had the car on the lift with the wheels off. Oh well I still cant believe they were in that great of shape for the miles. I use to get about 20k out of my non brembo g35 coupe pads.

33k? Wow - I'm already at 38k, closing in on 39 and I haven't replaced mine yet... maybe I should. I just had them checked maybe 6 months ago and they said they were still fine.

I think when you're down to 2mm, it's time to replace.
I'm at 30800mi, my pads are pretty much new still. It's easy to check/replace. I would definitely do brake pads yourself. The hardest part is taking off the wheel, which I'm sure many already know. I could do a DIY once I get a second set of calipers in a week or so.
