Second thoughts about eibach drop on 18s

I have the stock 18s and I placed an order from my local shop to install hotchks sways/ eibach springs. However the eibach springs were back ordered so I might still have a chance to back out.

I was going to get the eibach springs, no camber kit and an alignment on my stock 18s but after doing some research i found out about this "Tucking" issue.. which means i'd I have to spend more on spacers =(. But I plan to get 20s in the future after my stock 18s are worn out. So now I'm starting to think maybe it's best for my pocket if I just wait till i get my rims b4 dropping with eibach that way I won't have to get 2 alignments, spend a few hundred more on spacers to get rid of the tuck, and worry about scraping, camber.. =(

Since I'm on 18s and most people are on 19s, with the eibach drop will i be 1 inch lower than everyone else? I guess the non-sport tires are a bit more beefy so it might make up for the 1 inch loss hopefully... I dunno as a DD I'd much rather not have to worry too much about scraping and having 4 passengers inside as a concern =(

Another concern is https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...ictures-2.html spacers, After reading up on them and seeing AndrewDDS maintenance of having to check the spacers and re torque the nuts.. is making me scared of spacers.. Also some posts about vibration etc.. I don't want to run into these problems..

What do you guys think I should do? Any other g37 owners on stock 18s with eibach have any more comments on their experience?

Also, take a look at stillballins eibach drop on 18s.. I always admired the look and didnt notice the tuck.. until I read a thread about tuck and now I see it.. so obviously.. haha sigh..

https://www.myg37.com/forums/picture...-overlays.html

Keep in mind I dont think it's fully settled, what do you guys think is it okay, to go w/o spacers till i get my 20s.. (when the 18s tire wear out) or will it look ridiculous w/o spacers?

What should I do?
1) Get the eibach live with the tuck and wait till 20s come after stock tires are worn out
2) Wait till 20s come then drop it
3) Get the eibach and spacers wait till 20s come after stock tires worn out, sell the spacers

Eibachs aren't that bad of a drop, but how far in the future do you plan on getting the 20's? A while back i got a nail in my GT30 and i had to replace the tire. I was back on stockers for about two weeks, on htechs. The tucking was rediculous but its not unbearable.

I'm saving up for a condo this year. So I don't really want to get my 20s so soon. I can't really justify spending $4500CAD on Vossen 084s/Tires when I have 2000miles on my stocks @_@....

I'm thinking by the time my stock wears out, I'll have more justification for getting a new set of rims/tires

I wanted eibach at first because i thought it would be painless, since after reading about it not requiring camber kit, safe drop no scraping, but now the whole tucking, spacers... and possible scraping @_@ Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, lets say all eibach drops are exactly 0.8 1.2, if you put it on 18" rims it will be lower to the ground than 19, 20s right? Or do the tire size make a big diff?

yeah, you'll need an alignment after dropping and putting on new tires or wheels. if you can, do it all at once so you'll only have to do it once.

Yep, if you only change your wheels you don't need to get an alignment.
